    Stereo Shut down

Just curious, does any one else have a problem with their stereo's periodically shutting off for a few minutes and then magically turning back on? I assume it is because the system gets too hot. If I remember, I open the seats once in a while to let in a little air flow. Is this typical? Is there any other solution?

Could be heat, what's shutting down, the head unit or amp(s)

Mine also shuts down. I turn everything off and open the seats so the amps can cool off. The amps get really hot in the closed area they are mounted in. I have thought about putting some sort of fan in there to try and keep them cool enough so they wont shut down.

I think it is the amp. Likely nothing I can do about it. It probably doesn't help that the temp. in the summer is 105+

I had problems with the amp overheating, installed a fan and that took care of it for a while then I ran into more complex problems and ended up just replacing it.

Look and see if the amp is mounted flush to the wall or is it spaced out to give it some breathing room.

I would say it is your amp. Mine do the same thing.

That makes sense. I will check that as soon as it comes out of storage.

Its heat. Turn your gain on the amp down or get more airflow.

You might also want to consider an amp with a fan. I've not had an issue and it gets pretty toasty in the summer.

all my fans have amps and it has helped the problems out a lot. I have sense installed some moving air via vans and now my issue is not a problem. My system is a bit more extreme then yours, but it's all the same issues.
