    FIC is correct. If "ohmed" properly, they should not overheat...they may get warm, but they should not go into protection. (The higher the ohm set up, the less heat.) You can Google "ohm ratings for car audio" to explore ways to do this. Also make sure that the ohm set up is equal between channels on multi-channel amps with split speaker assignments. If not, it will go into protection when cranked up. The lower the ohms, the more precise the system must be set up.
