If you look close at the picture, you can see the zip ties attached to the wall.

Well, I already got a hole on my hose when my wakeboard fin moved around driving from my house to the lake. Perhaps not everyone brings it to you for repair.

I also mentioned that I didn't think that pvc was the best solution, but a better solution then the hose. Perhaps some kind of integrated air vent underneth the carpet would be a better solution.

I modified the intakes with ABS pipe; they are not going to be crushed now.
              Zany,

Very nice. Now you have given me another one of those winter projects to do. Why do you have 4 clamps on that bad brothuh?

              I like your solution.

I access my amp compartment from the front a fair amount and have often found the hose in the way. I finally ended up ripping it because it was not securely attached to the wall and was always hanging around. One of these days I will take a pic of mine, you will notice that mine is brown, because that is the only thing I could find at Home Depot, and I wanted it fixed immediately. BTW, I still have another 6 feet of the stuff.

I also think it is a reasonable concern that something could torque on the plastic pipe, and do some damage, but I think it pretty unlikely.

Does anyone know what size hole that is in the floor (what size pipe did you use Zany? I know that the pipe is 3 inches...and it seems to me that the hole in the floor is just small enough that the hose does not want to thread in there very well, like 2 3/4".
              Be excellent to one another.

The top fitting is the same size as outside of the 3" 90, I used a 4 band hub for cast iron pipe so I could make a good seal without putting a lot of pressure on the fitting.

The 3" ABS pipe slid snugly into the original hole in the floor with out any modification.

This not a Tige issue it is an overall boating industry issue up scale boats like Searays and Cobalts thru the 60's-90's all used the same type of hose only it was white.

Other boats I have looked at like MC BU and CC also use the sme type of vent hoses. Other I/O's and outboards are the same so I think it is the industry standard and what the buying public would bear.

The next time you buy a new Tige see if they will put PVC in the boat for you!

Well, if that is the case. Perhaps Tige should be the leader in innovating to a batter solution! Something that would go under the carpet and it wouldn't be an issue to customers.

Just in just thread, there are a few that think the cheap air hose (even if it is industry standard) does not meet the user expectations.

Good feedback for Tige's VOC (Voice of the Customer).

It would be nice if they left space to hide them. My feeling is sure see if Tige's VOC will look into it and publish a report. Would a business plan support the retooling cost to the molds? . Will the business case support a profit if they made the change? My bet is that even though it does not meet yours and a few others user standards no one wants to pay more for a rigid tube that is normaly behind a closed hatch or panel. It is an econnomic and tooling issue for the 1600 boats Tige buit last year ( I think thats the number) I think it was 1200 the year before

                            eksilva,

alright, here is your solution, if you choose to accept. This post will self destruct in 30yrs. Que the Mission Impossible theme.......

Take the hose from the bow vents to the storage and run it up behind the bow seat backs into the storage area. Now run the hose across the roof of the storage, behind the glovebox/radio, and then down the front corner of the storage area and across the floor along the walk-thu wall and down the hole.

Now, get your self some scrap Tige carpet from your dealer, lots of pieces come in on boats when delivered. Now build an L shaped, 2 sided false wall to cover the hose from the upper front corner to the floor and over to the hole.

You could really just do that with the hose... and then its out of the way and away from punctures and whatever else... might be cheaper too
