Besides, I think that would be a good opportunity to show some craftsmanship and innovation, even if all did it the same way, which I do not believe is the case.
If the Ventilation comes from the back side where the engine is close to, I would have no problem to use that kind of hose, but when you have to move the air through the entire boat, a little engineering could make it look much nicer. The laughter of the world is merely loneliness pathetically trying to reassure itself. - Neal A. But again, what do I now...
I'll take a stab at why that hose is laid in the bow storage floor and visible: From somewhere under the front storage area forward, the hull is filled with the stringers and "Life Plus Core". There is no void in the the stringers for the hose to run. I know this for 2 reasons: 1 I have had those hoses out and you can only feel a foot or so forward in the bilge before it dead ends. 2nd, with all the posting about the non-existent bow-drains, Harvey and or Andrew have replied that you can not drill drain holes from the bow storage corners into the bilge because of the stringers and Life Plus.

I modified the intakes with ABS pipe; they are not going to be crushed now.
It is amaizing that you doing it home can make it look better than a factory item. The laughter of the world is merely loneliness pathetically trying to reassure itself. - Neal A. Maxwell

Then no, I am not afraid and I definably will trust the pvc pipe before the hose.
I am not saying that it is the perfect solution. What I would like is a more integrated ventilation where the user (me) would not have to worry about either the plastic fragile hose or the rigid pvc on the fiberglass. One that would go under or on the side of the boat, and I would never see or worry about it. I am not a boat engineer or neither do I know if there is enough space to hide the hose in the hull.

If something in that storage compartment fell into the PVC and something else landed on that object the PVC could act as a lever was all I was saying. They do make other flexible hose that looks better and still flexes that could do what you want. You would find it at a home supply center usually to extend drainage systems.

You could easily secure that to to the walk-thru wall with some wire-ties w/screw hole and it wont go anywhere.
