Besides, I think that would be a good opportunity to show some craftsmanship and innovation, even if all did it the same way, which I do not believe is the case.

If the Ventilation comes from the back side where the engine is close to, I would have no problem to use that kind of hose, but when you have to move the air through the entire boat, a little engineering could make it look much nicer.

Sorry, I mis-read your original post.

I'll take a stab at why that hose is laid in the bow storage floor and visible: From somewhere under the front storage area forward, the hull is filled with the stringers and "Life Plus Core". There is no void in the the stringers for the hose to run. I know this for 2 reasons: 1 I have had those hoses out and you can only feel a foot or so forward in the bilge before it dead ends. 2nd, with all the posting about the non-existent bow-drains, Harvey and or Andrew have replied that you can not drill drain holes from the bow storage corners into the bilge because of the stringers and Life Plus.

        Hope this help.

I also did not like the hoses, I was always afraid the airflow would be closed off by shifting items in the storage. And mostly I thought they just look cheep.
I modified the intakes with ABS pipe; they are not going to be crushed now.

Very Nice! That is exacly the same concern I have.

It is amaizing that you doing it home can make it look better than a factory item.

And your not afraid that the black pvc pipe with a large heavy object hitting it won't crack or break let alone shear the fiberglass at the hose clamps?

Okay, are you comparing the durability of a pvc pipe to a fragile plastic hose?

Then no, I am not afraid and I definably will trust the pvc pipe before the hose.

I am not saying that it is the perfect solution. What I would like is a more integrated ventilation where the user (me) would not have to worry about either the plastic fragile hose or the rigid pvc on the fiberglass. One that would go under or on the side of the boat, and I would never see or worry about it. I am not a boat engineer or neither do I know if there is enough space to hide the hose in the hull.

I am a customer and I am entitle to express my opinion on a product that I buy. This is the second Tige I bought.

I like them too, I wish it was my. My boat is in storage and I couldn't get a picture.

Someone wanted a picture of the hose for illustration and I did a search on RZ2 and found this picture on wakeside.

I only have 2 amps on my system.

You misunderstand me. To me the PVC loooks better. My concern is that the PVC is stronger than the flex hose so if some thing jammed between the PVC and the sidewall I would have a concern not of the PVC breaking but of the PVC cracking the fiberglass where it is conncected to the inlet or outlet with hose clamps. If something in that storage compartment fell into the PVC and something else landed on that object the PVC could act as a lever was all I was saying. They do make other flexible hose that looks better and still flexes that could do what you want. You would find it at a home supply center usually to extend drainage systems.

Congats on having owned two Tige boats good choice...... You made a customers decision

You could easily secure that to to the walk-thru wall with some wire-ties w/screw hole and it wont go anywhere.

Wow when I thought of the flaw with the PVC I did not think of securing it more I just thought of another material.
