I want to add a 2nd battery that will run the stereo. Does anybody know what i need? I was told I need a isolator. I am just not sure of the parts I will need and what type of battery.

You can do it yourself, but as Ruune says, you don't need an isolator...a battery switch will suffice.
The set-up is pretty simple:
- Ground cable between both batteries (preferrably the same guage as your current ground cable)
- 2 cables to connect from each positive battery terminal to the battery switch
- Battery switch
- Battery Box
You'll want to put anything you want to be able to have run from either battery on the battery switch.
I put my own in and it wasn't a big deal. On my boat, I had to relocate the TAPS hydraulic pump, but again, no big deal. Be sure to measure the exact length of the 3 cables you'll need. My dealer made the cables for me because they didn't have time to do the install in the timeframe I needed.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

I did this write-up a while back for adding a 2nd Deep Cycle to my boat. Just ignore the 3rd battery in the diagram.
