I won't use dish soap because I could see where it could possibly be harmful to the little fishies. Who knows for sure.
That is a good point that I have not yet thought about it. Perhaps I should look at a environmentally friend soap.

My small bottle of soap has the pull up and pop down lid, so leaking has not been a problem.

HAHAHAHA. I never thought of that! And being from Canada it would make perfect sense to use it!

The only reason I use KY or slime over dishsoap is becuase they wash out of the bindings within a few seconds of pulling out of the water. I found dishsoap tends to hang around a lot longer and not wash out as easy, so your foot slides a bit and you don't want that if you're skiing a course and really cranking hard turns.

Are you sure that's the only reason you use KY?

That's what I'm looking to buy, if the product works, or make my own if I can.

I have been using Biodegradable Dishwashing Soap, washes out of the bindings quickly and doesn't leave a residue on the water.

The dealer installed a slim pump system on my boat for the original owner.

He used a water fill type fitting on the edge of the driver side rear storage area. Attached to it is about a 1 or 1.5 gallon plastic bottle. That drains into a fresh water pump. Exiting the pump it goes via plastic tube to a coil of hose with a trigger nozzle. When I launch, I feed the hose thru the corner of the rear deck lids (no mods required) and use a hunk of Velcro to hold the nozzle next to the swim platform. And, no. No pics and she is sleeping. I'll post them when hibernation is over.

I mix dish soap w/ water 50:50 because straight soap is too thick for the water-designed pump. From what I just read, maybe I should use something else if the soap is going to dry out the plastic bindings. So far and 3 years later on these binding, no problems.........yet. Anyone know where I can buy KY by the gallon?

Pre Tige', I also used soap bottles, but the pump is impressive.

I use newt juice diluted to 50/50. I have a 1 gallon bottle stored behind a panel so it does not take up any space with a hose and a sprayer on it. I have thought about the newt shooter before and the first thing that came to mind was a radiator overflow or a windshield washer reservoir.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

Does that work? How does it compare to dish soap?

We love it, and does not dry out the bindings. And it smells purty!
