before I got my CWB Zeus bindings, I used Lava (I think thats what its called). Not the pumice soap, but the pink binding lube. It wont cake on your transom and it rinses off easier than soap.

My wife's Obriens still need lube, but my son says his new L/F's dont. Others that ride with us do, but I figure 1 gal will last a season.

I got the Babe's Binding slim from anhaney. Since my younger children have an older CWB board and bindings, we still need to purchase slim. However, we only go thru one small bottle a year but that is only because we don't have the children out with us every time we go out to board.

Yes, it works very well. Bought a gallon of it towards the middle of the boarding season last year. Still have a ton of product left.

When I was traveling alot brought back alot of those little hotel shampoo bottles. I keep a few in the boat and they work great for getting into tough bindings. Not sure how bad shampoo is for the bindings but they are convienent.
I like the idea of a 1 gal jug with a pump. I would think you could dilute the slime with water to get it thin enough to flow if needed.

What brands have you used with less then good result?

Soap is great, but will wash out the natural oils in the bindings and they will dry out and crack .

so thats why mine went bad.... good info...

I thought that was propaganda from the manufacturers of expensive slime.

I have used dish soap and it works fine. Never had a pair of binding show any worse for the wear. If you wanted to hook up a pump, you could just use a little water for the dish soap and that would allow it to be sucked up just fine into the sprayer.

I use a small bottle of palmolive (keeps my feet smooth and silky) and it just sits in one of the cupholders perfectly and I go through 2 bottles a season. I just refill it out of the stuff we use in the house.

I know some guys who like to use shaving cream because it washes out of the bindings more quickly.

Same reason to use dish soap once in a while to to wash the boat and car, cleans the old wax off so you can re-wax. It's a degreaser by design and even man made materials have an "oil" in them to keep them from getting stiff.

We have used soap for years with no real ill effects, just tired of it leaking when the cap doesnt get closed and soap is too thick to pump.

Same here, I never had a problem with my binding and I always used dish soap.

Well I bought the regular slim at the dealer the first time, I used it too fast and did not work as well as the dish soap.

One little drop of dish soap = 1/2 cup of the other stuff

I was told the dish soaps are not friendly to the marine life. Not sure if it's true or not, just figured why not buy slime and be sure it's eco-friendly.

I won't use dish soap because I could see where it could possibly be harmful to the little fishies. Who knows for sure.
