to get this back on Z1 topic....

WAY OVERPRICED BOAT! if its going to match the other 21 ft boats, it needs to be at least 10k cheaper......you can get a 22ve for this price.

also whats up with such a markup on the tower of power, does Tige' think were uneducated buyers and we none of us know how much they are on tims site?

I think 2 highly overlooked areas on this boat

[QUOTE=talltigeguy;124223]I still think the Tige wake without ballast competes with most stock boats with ballast.

I mean to say that you take an X-star with 900 pounds of ballast and put it up against the RZ2 unweighted, then you have a very similar sized wake. [QUOTE]

Speaking from experience, this is incorrect. The Xstar with a stock ballast is MUCH better (bigger and better shaped) than an unweighted RZ2. However, RZ2 with some ballast... now you're talking.

hull shape is no substitute for water displacement. The old addage "Theres no replacement for displacement" holds true here, moreso than it does with engines.

I agree. Without ballast the TIGE is better, but if you put weight on the Competition the wake will be better if the Tige does not have weight.

Like I said, the ConvexV is great but does not replace the ballast. Now both together and you have the best wake!!

To put somethings in perspective I got a quote from a Mastercraft dealer who wants $68k for a Maristar MCS 200 with tower remotes a couple of ballasts perfect pass and a few other odds and end options. That is one expensive boat had no trailer. Nice boat but just a tad pricey.

Not even close. Half the MCs I saw this summer at the Texas Ski Ranch were pushing 6 figures (that's right boys and girls). As for the X1, it's wake sucks according to my kids, even fully loaded.

I gotta go with Ruune on this one. For the record, virtually all of this year's INT riders preferred the RZ2 (from Texas Tige) over the X-Star during the competition. They all had to ride behind each boat, so it's a pretty fair comparison.

IMHO, the V205 hull (Former Xstar, then X2, now the X1) has one of the sickest wakes I've seen, but thats sacked out with a LOT of weight! Guess its all just preference.

Hmmm, not sure what they did on some of the competitions at the Texas Ski Ranch, but my son wasn't too complimentary. I guess he's spoiled

oh TSR.. heh. I'll bet it was when the water was down. The boat lake was so shallow at one point that it effected the wake.

No, it was this summer for a kids comp. Their lake looks similar to Frameswitch. The SAN they rode behind at Frameswitch was way better than the X1. Who knows how they had it weighted.

was it a SAN 210? I havent been behind the new one, but the previous generation is one of my favorites.

Yes. They said the wake was closest to our wake and the RZ2 wake (RZ2 was bigger than ours, but had the same shape). For them it's all about getting pop off the wake and they all felt like they had to work harder to do that behind the MCs. The X-Star was way better than the X1. They hated riding behind the X1.

yeah.. Xstar is bigger and wider than the X1... similar to the 22v, but I like the transition on the 22v better. Now, an old-style SAN 210 is skinny, but rampy as hell. I rode behind one, and it was so abrubt it was almost uncontrollable. However, I was also on a parks 143 and ended up 10-15' out in the flats w/ ease. I felt like a football at a packers game (getting punted a lot).

I think you're were trying to say setting the all time passing record/TD record/INT record.

So, is it safe to say, That those whom have riden behind a well weighted RZ2 fell that it is "A GREAT WAKE", and worthy of "ALL" riders?

If you don't like the unweighted wake of a Tige, and feel that adding xtra weight will help you have a better time on the water and help you and your family SHRED YOUR FACES OFF HARDER, then add some weight. Just have fun and enjoy the FINEST built inboard boat on the water. AMEN.
