That is the quote I got the other day from my Tige dealer. I thought it should have been $700-$800 plus install so now I shop around

Did you have a full or partial knee replacement?

mine was inner joint partial and my postop had me bearing weight within a few days and walking with crutches for 2 weeks and then no crutches after the replacement surgery. A few months later I was in for a third time for them to clean up more torn cartilage and I had same post op followed by 12 weeks of PT. As the summer of 2006 showed me it was a failure. Like you I did the surgery and therapy in off season. At least in 2005 I was getting some monster cuts

          Good luck with your recovery

Ask about some custom made knee braces like the CTI2 or Don-Joys when you go to the ortho. They really help and nothing "off the shelf" fits or moves like custom made braces. In most cases your Insurance Co. will buy them for you.
I looked into them and my ortho and a second one did not reccomend it for slalom skiing. I will check again.

I have never surfed either in the big water or behind a boat. It is something to try and undertake this season. Does it put a lot of pressure on your lead leg while getting up?

It would be great to learn and if possible and then learn to do it off of my 20V. I have enough ballast. About 450 lbs of live dog meat(3 labs 1 Aussie Shepard and a hot dog ) and what ever passengers I haul with. The labs love to sit in the back of the boat on the floor (never on vinyl the have to walk on towels to get in and out). My wife, daughter her friends will get us close to the 9 person limit counting the herd as 2 humans

Surfing is the greatest "old man" sport I love it. A lot less load then boarding. Are you reg or goofy?

That's funny about the dogs, we have a yellow lab and our son has a solid blue merle aussie/yellow lab mix (not related). Our lab loves the boat/water, but we haven't had a chance to take the ausiedore out yet.

                I haven't surfed a 20v yet bit I hear they throw a sweet wave

Surfing is very fun and very easy to learn, So far everyone I took on my boat I was able to help them get up and have a good time.

Here is a video I watched that helped me when I was learning ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=a6Pf5s7HGF0 )

There is a You Tube button in "reply" tool bar. Copy and past the last part of the link, from the = to the end of the link. Click Quote for my post and you will see.

I guess I am goofy with left leg( bad knee) forward.( I'm goofy anyway so why should watersports define it) and most definetly I am getting into the oldman status with 24 and 27 year old kids
