2008 Upgrades, what are your plans?

Inspired by Chpthril's post on spharis's WakeBoatWorld site, what are your plans for 2008 upgrades?

Here's what's on my list, just a couple of little things:

1) More Wetsounds! Adding one set of Pro 80's to my tower... Have one set of Pro 60's already.

2) Getting rid of the uncomfortable Tige Deck tape and replacing with Gator-Grip (or similar) on my swim platform.

3) Replacing windshield mount mirror with tower mount mirror.

4) Adding Flag pole for 36" x 60" flag for "Surrender the Booty" pirate flag. Still not sure where to mount it...

5) Adding DVX Flag Holder to the tower. I'm sick of the neighbor kids fighting over who gets to hold the flag up... Now nobody gets to hold it...

6) Adding Ipod interface to Sony HU... Have the HK Drive+Play but I'm not going to use that anymore... I bought the Sony Interface with Sony source selector so I can control my iPod from the transom remote.

So that's it... I'm pretty happy... Can't wait for spring!

Those all look like decent ideas. The only one I can think of for my 20V is to add a pair of tower spearkers. I just have to figure out which kind to get. I guess I should wait uintil I get the 20V wet first before adding on to it.

Adding Ipod interface to Sony HU... Have the HK Drive+Play but I'm not going to use that anymore... I bought the Sony Interface with Sony source selector so I can control my iPod from the transom remote.

That's the very reason i went with the HK D+P becasue the remotes are such a pain to use with the iPod. I have the Pioneer unit and all you can do is bump back or forth and it takes forever to find anything because they disable the iPod as well.

A couple of other little things: I my upgrade tower speaker amp in late Spring/early Summer,

and thanks to Lunch Box, I'm am inspired to add a couple of extra bilge pumps.

getting this 06 22v i found with only 73 hours on it if i can get rid of my 02 22i.. but def a new boat this year.

My 08 to do list:

1)- more integrated ballast ( adding more to the factory spec)

2)- Upgrading to a 3 amp system. ( All Alpine PDX amps) ( 100X4, 150X4 and 600X1)

3)- Getting time to design a Dekelz wrap for the boat to showcase our work.

New boat. Which one is up for grabs. I have concerns about the RZ4 surf wake being compromised by the swimstep. My pet peeve of towing tubes off of the ski pylon is still an issue, but I think I will just do it and pay for gel coat when I need to. I guess the first thing is to get my current boat sold. I am aiming to get one of the first 09's if possible.

Then my list goes to next winter's projects for the new boat:
- ballast
- FAE
- stereo upgrades depending on what I sell with the old boat and what I order with the new. I might order it stereoless and build it from the ground up.
- Third battery

If something happens and I cannot sell the old boat, I would replace the tower and the dark vinyl that gets hot. That would still likely be cheaper than the difference in price between my boat and the new boat.

I am seriously considering doing a swap of my Z tower with a samson razor tower. I have been talking with them, I want a tower that will EASILY go up and down, the Z tower is a PITA.

Install Rival Ballast system.

Possible FAE, not sure, we do a lot of surfing.

-Having custom board racks being made right now--perfectly matched to the oval Tige plate on my tower they will go up/down with one hand screw
-some undetermined form of tower speakers--I'd like to support Wetsounds (because he posts here and seems real helpful) but the price is a factor, Wetsounds are very expensive
-LED lights in places
-custom HID light bar
-anything else that I can think of to part with my hard earned money

I will be adding a fan setup for my amps. Otherwise, I'm set for another year since I got a new surf board for Christmas.

I will be
- installing the 2 pairs of Pro 60's
- Adding new amp to power the Pro 60's
- rewiring the speakers and amps
- adding a taller seat base and installing my vision air seat
- Tweaking the ballast system to eliminate the vapor lock and putting my rear drain pumps behind the battery wall
- Maybe adding a 2nd bilge pump
- Forcing my wife and daughter to drive the boat so I can relax
- Winning the Pimp my Tige raffle in October to use towards a new tower!!
