Demo Warranty.. What does this mean?

Hey... I just purchased a 2007 RZ2 (12/21/07). It was a rider's boat, Scotty Broome. In the purchase agreement, it states the boat is new. However, there are 125 hours on the guage. Anyway, also in the agreement is a hull warranty. It states "Demo Warranty".

What exactly does "Demo Warranty" mean?

Also, I noticed today that some of the stiching needs to be repaired. But, the stiching warranty looks like it covers the original owner only.

If the boat is listed as "New" in the agreement, does that mean I am the original owner? Even though a team Tige' rider had it for the first six months?

2 ways to look @ it. From a registration stand point (State, Bank, Insurance, etc) the boat is "new" because it has never been Titled. From Tiges stand point, they have a max number of hours that can be put on a boat before it falls into a "Demo", or "limited" warranty as in your case. I guess this is there to protect Tige from refurbishing boats under warranty, that have been rode hard and put away wet, so to speak, by dealers and then sold as new with full warranty.

Same thing as a "Program" car from a new car dealer. They are factory demos and lease turn-ins from Hertz and such. Never been Tittled, but sold as used due to mileage.

If that term is part of the Buyers Order, then there should be an explanation of what it means. Best find out now.

We bought a riders boat that was used by Erik Ruck. Told us that the warranty was for a new boat. Very, very few things have gone wrong with it, but Tige always fixed it with no questions asked. Even things that were not what I took it in for were fixed when I got it back. Outstanding backing to the dealer from Tige. Welcome to the board.

I have bought 2 Tiges and the warranty has being excellent. Before my Tiges I bought a new 4 Winns and every little thing I try to fix using the warranty was a big fight to prove that the issues should be cover under the warranty.

Tige's warranty is far superior than any boat company I've dealt with.

This is all good information. I have sent an email to Tige' asking for more information. My son saw the boat for the first time this morning. He about fell down. I picked it up around 4:30 AM and parked in the driveway. Just let it sit. We opened presents, made phone calls... Finally my wife sent him out to get the paper... HaHa.

Anyway, we took it out for an hour. Had a great time. Boat ran great. Instant acceleration. Tight turns.

I will add more info to this thread as soon as I hear back from Tige'.

congrats on the new boat!! what dealer did you buy the boat from? what lake/s you on? lakeland not to far from me i head out that way every once in a while, ill keep an eye out for you.

It seems a little late for Wake up, but I think the critical question when buying a demo boat is the dealer. Tige tries to get good dealers, so I doubt it is an issue, but a demo boat gives a dealer some ability to squirm his way out of fixing some things. If your dealer is good, you should have as good of support as a new boat...but if he is bad, you might have trouble.

He probably bought the boat from Boat Tree in Orlando, which I've heard is pretty good. I guess he could always bring it over to Forte's Inboard Connection if Boat Tree is a pain. I can't say enough about the service I get from Dom and KKO.

Yep BoatTree in Orlando.

I usually ride on Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland or Ariana in Auburndale.

However, I am not particulary fond of either lake. They are just convenient to where I live. I also go to Crooked Lake in Lake Wals occassionally. I like that one. It is very large, long straight shorelines. But, there is not a convenient boatramp anywhere. Just a little narrow on that you reach by driveing 3/4 of the way around the lake.

I believe I will get good service from BoatTree. So far, they have been very good to deal with. The last place I went, for my previous boat, left a litle to be desired. Once the sale was complete, they would hardly talk to me.

If you need Tige official definition of a Demo warranty check the download section on the tige.com site. I think the info you want is in the owners manual but it is in the download area.

all I found was under "Excusions", it says "boats over 40 hours", but doesn't really say what is/isn't coverd.
