    Anyone surfed a Flowrider?

The day after Christmas I'm taking my sons to Orlando to attend a Wesleyan youth convention. We are leaving a couple of days early so Benjamin can wakeboard at OWC cable park. They have also heard about the Flowrider at the Mall of Florida in Orlando. Looks pretty cool and just wandered if any of you surfers have ever tried one.

Yes. I got my arse handed to me. I might as well set up a ladder in the front yard and jump off of it 4 times.

PS. It is nothing like wakesurfing. 95% of your weight is on your back foot.

That was sweet. I think the first guy was Parks Bonifay? And did you see that dude in the tshirt almost land a kick flip, nuts!

Let us know how it goes, that thing looks like it would bring a faceplant\eye peeler to a whole other level. OUCH. Take some video!

That was a girl that was the very best from about 2 to the 2:30 mark.

I am sure that like most things, it looks easier than it is.
          Be excellent to one another.

I agree, these pros make it look easy. My 14 year old says the guys riding are Shane Bonifay, Parks Bonifay, Daniel Watkins and Brett Isenhauer. I asked him tonight if he's still going wanting to try it. His response was "ya i really wanna try it. its gonna be gnarly." He also says he'll be trying some inverts and a backside 5 off the kickers at the cable park.

A handful of cruise ships have these to and I would definitely take a try at making an @$$ out of my self (doesn't take much tho )

That ride is probably made by Schlitterbahn here in Texas. They make water rides for most of the water parks now and this concept was pioneered by them with their Surfenburg ride.

I have multiple times, so much fun! Its like wakesurfing but 20 times easier, I was spinning so many times I had to stop cause I got dizzy.

I'll get pics up a little later

It isn't that easy and it hurts when you hit. The Florida mall is pretty cool. The 1st time I tried it I got the wind knocked out of me. Enjoy your trip, I the kids will enjoy trying it.

                        TRD,
It is easy when you are 18 and coordinated like Spenchy2 is!

I would try it but I am sure my 35 yr old a$$ would get rocked hard and I would limp away from it bruised both physically and emotionally.

This statement is true, falling kills my back got all cut up and I was sore like someone beat me with a baseball bat the next day. I took pain killer before I went to bed that night too.
