    Third Party Ballast System

I bought a 2007 RZ2 this year and it does not have ballast system. The wake is great for wakeboarding, but for surfing I would would like a bigger wake.

It is a pain to deal with fat sacks. Do you guys know of any ballast system that you recommend that is not factory Installed?

Are you up to installing your own? I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

I think that Rival industries still makes a kit you can get. Just call Tige boats in Phoenix and they can connect you in the right direction.

This might help some too: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...=rival+install

Thanks for the input so far. Have any of you already installed the ballast system from an after market? DOes it look nice?

i have the rival and you can't tell I have it until you open the compartments. I made it look really clean! I plumbed it up real nice. Ask G or Anhaney and they will vouch how clean it looks.

Anhaney and I and G-money are going to install a system into G's boat that you can get all the parts from lowes this jan or feb. We will have a complete photo documentary of it. If your not in a hurry wait till then and you can see what you think.

I will probably would just pay someone to install it for me.

I wanted to buy one with a factory ballast installled, but they didn't have any with it, and I heard that the location where they installed the controls always got in the way and got bumped.

I just want to make sure it looks like a professional installed.

Nice boat. The trailer is sick too. You're going to hate those chrome wheel wells, they are impossible to keep looking fresh. Good thing you have the shiny rims to distract the eye
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

if you are mechanically inclined at all it's cake to do.

Thanks Jason B. I notice that I had to wipe the chrome as often as I did the boat as I got out of the water. They get hard water stain very easy.

Domsz06, how much does it usually cost to do it yourself and how much will it cost to have a professional install it?

if you buy the rival kit it's around 1200 depends on how many sacs and pumps.

having someone do it I would say would probably be around 3grand. but not sure as I have no idea.

parts if you buy from lowes to do it yourself, I think Anhaney said we can get it all for under 500 but not sure.

Without the Sacs I was around $750. I had to shop the internet for the parts. The biggest expense is the pumps and the hose. The cheapest hose shipped was at boatfix.com. Way less than lowes. And I can say the Lowes hose was bigger than stated and caused me some grief.
                            Let it be!!!

wow yours was that much xp? I thought you could do it for cheaper...... not sure though. It also depends on the pumps u use. My pumps are 30 bucks at the local marina.
