Gotta remember one thing here, the location needs to be easily accessable to everyone. While places like Far West and Almanor may be cool for the local groups, those traveling from afar would appreciate lakes a bit closer i'm sure like the foothill lakes. Just a thought especially since they are near 80 water or better water temps then.

y, almanor is probably closest to me, but the ride up the mountain on the 70 is quite a trip. Stick to the big lakes with services and close to major highways, like oroville, folsom, shasta (may be too far north).

Whatever you do, stay away from Lake Commanche!!!!!!!!!!! It's just one big bowl of water and it gets rough in the afternoons.

Out in the main body of the lake, yes...it gets rough and windy. Further east it's nice for anchoring and doing whatever anchored Tigé owners do. Lake is low now, but hopefully winter rains and snow will make it awesome again. Comanche is a nice lake, but we just use it for day trips. Close to home and fun for the kids.

              Ambivalent? Yes. Or Not.
