The lakes south, are more like holes in the ground. Thats why I moved up here. Would love to go to Shasta, I need an excuse to go there.

However, if central is in mind, there is one lake I went to this year, with incredible facilities. Its where they held the world surfing comp, lake Yosemite in merced. Its a small lake, and in the middle of nowhere. But its central, and the day use area was the best I have seen. Nice bridge for people to watch, picnic tables and trees. I also think that you can organize with this lake to use it just for an event. Anyway, like i said, I love the lakes in NorCal, and am partial, but if you looking for central, I can cope. ;-)

I am going on the 19th to check out lakes above the Fresno area as I thought that would be a good central point for all and for the out of stater's there is an airport close by with in an hour from any of there lakes. Count me in I will help out and maybe we should talk on the Phone TIGEBLUE so we can coordinate our efforts into one event instead of separate events. I say go for it.

as for the location. I have one more Lake in mind. After talking with one of my sponsors today I'm thinking about Rollins lake. The amenities are awesome and the water is like glass all day. They have a great camping area and if all goes right I will just pay for the whole camping area. I think this event will be a 2 day thing. I have several meetings tomorrow with some more investors and Im going to start getting the date closer to being locked down.

Some of my buddies are real good friends with some serious pro wakeboarders. Im thinking about televising the event on espn or at least making a really good dvd out of it. This event will be huge. So far allot of people are stepping up. anhaney get a hold of me when you can. I would like to maybe make this one really good event instead of having 2 events on the west coast.

thought about shasta but I think its too far north. At least this way we would be in the center of California. A little more central. It will be well worth it!

I agree but there are some real nice lakes in the central area. Depending on how big this gets we for sure need to find a lake that will accommodate all the boats with there associated families.

I would say we need to make part of the plans activitees for the kids to be able to have fun other than boating as some of them will just flat out be bored sitting on boats and getting to board, surf, or tube every now and then.

understand, Yosemite is smaller, but real nice facilities, and grass and stuff all around.

Wherever it is, I would love to attend. If it is up here somewhere, glad to help.

I will try to snap some photos later this week and I will post them up. I skeptical about lake Folsom because that lakes water level dropped so fast this last year. Love the spot but Rollins is so much better as far as better water to ride on. You know I see allot of Tige boats on the water but only a few profiles on this site. I wonder if most of those guys even check up here on the site?

Hey Tigeblue, did you check out Bullards Bar Reservoir? It's twice the size of Rollins and an absolutely beautiful lake and less crowded i believe, not sure though.

Depending on when it is determines on wether i can make it or not. It's my 30th anniversary next year and the wife has already stated we're taking a trip that won't include lakes or small boats.

Another suggestion may be Lake Tulloch. I'ts about the same size as Rollins, but has both camping, and a hotel with docks. It gets pretty busy in the hotter months, but a great place to have a good time. The owners of the hotel are great people, and host wake events all the time.
                  Just another option to concider.

I have been on Rollins Lake twice now. About a year ago when Capital Water Sports had their Customer Appreciation camping trip and then another time before I owned my boat. IMO, Rollins is a smaller lake that will support something but it will be smaller. I would stay away from Rollins if you can and head up to Oroville or down to New Hogans if Folsom is not working out.

IMO New Hogan would be the better choice for an easy access lake, and it's closer for the southern crowd. It has nice campgrounds especially at Acorn as you have the nice big long cove to anchor in. Of course this is all based on water this year. New Hogan relies heavily on seasonal runoff as it doesn't have a river feeding it, just creeks and streams. Also the fees are extremely reasonable as the Army Corp of Engineers runs the place. Valley Springs is minutes away if you need anything too.

During Thanksgiving, the water level seemed to be fine at New Hogans. Surfdad still goes there to boat. I agree with Razzman 110%.

However, if you are Sprint phone user, you will need to put your phone on roaming since there is no connection otherwise. Verizon does get receiption up there.

My vote is for New Hogans.

my goal is Lake Folsom. Im going to try for that spot first. Rollins is another great spot. only been there once but I loved it. The water was great all day. minus the wind of course

Bullards Bar is my favorite place to go camping. That place is awsome. Love the color of the water too. Where ever it is Im sure it will be great. I have allot of things going on besides just boating. So I need allot of space for the stage area and vendors to set up. I will need to check out New Hogans lake. Lets just hope we get the rain we need this year!

I will need some drivers to pull the riders during the event. Any volunteers? I already talked with CWS. They are going to provide the boats and we are talking about some other things too. Im really excited to do this. Most of all we can all hang out!

good talking too you the other day.

Guys I think I have my dates

                              June 27th - 29th

                              or July 4th - 6th

I think 4th of July would be a great weekend to do this because allot of people would be on Vacation. Otherwise I think the week before might not have a great turnout because people would be on Vacation the next weekend. What are your guy's thoughts

I think I want to do 4th of July weekend. That way I can have some fireworks over the lake!

                                TigeBlue.......

If you want several of the worlds best hydrofoilers there to put on exhibition
at your event, I believe I can arrange that. Several of them reside in the
the Bay area. I grew up in Fresno and may make it out to your event and
tie in a Family visit. Let me know that I can do to help.

                                Thanks
