You would think that about the gas. But my previous boat was a 1998 220 Four Winns horizon with the 5.7 280HP Fuel Injected motor. I think they call it the GSi. Also had the duo prop, which gives you better fuel economy. It regularly got 8 gph, which matched the manufacturers specs.

My 24Ve gets regularly 6 gph. We ALWAYS have 8 people in the boat, and we load 1000lbs of ballast as we leave the dock, and keep it in til we return. We are constantly towing, because my kids compete at both wakesurfing and wakeboarding. I am still amazed at the fact that my Tige 24 gets better economy, especially the way I use it.

If you ever like going out on the lake, and kicking it with your family, enjoy lunch in a cove or whatever, in addition to your water sports, get the 24. The cockpit is a living room, its awesome. The bow is also a bit bigger, and my kids love it up there, there are always like 4 up there, including my 16 and 15 yr olds.

I am sure the 22 handles a bit better, as the 20 handles better than the 22, but my 24 handles great.

I think the only reason I would get the 22 over the 24, is if I had a storage issue. If you have room for the 24, get it, you won't be sorry. Always get the best/biggest you can afford. Except for storage, I can't think of a reason you would think, I wish I got the smaller one.

Last, some people on this board hypothesize that the 22 would have a better wake than the 24. They may be right, the theory being that the 22 has less surface area, so the more weight in the boat, the more it will displace.

That may be true, if it was, it would be minor. But I still stand on the fact that Tige used the 24Ve for the Tige pro am the last 2 years. I would have bet my left nut they would use the RZ4 or RZ2 this year, due to them being new products. I honestly don't know the reasoning, but it makes me proud of my boat.

I am guessing, that the 24Ve allows them to weight down the most, and produce the best wake. It has already been accepted on this board, that the RZ4 is a great boat, but the 24Ve takes rough water better, and therefore could take more weight, because the RZ4 is more likely to perl with its drop nose.

I could be wrong, but I think thats why they chose the 24Ve. If you live near NorCal, stop by, I will show you my boat!

Big agree on that one. Thats why I had mine done on my own, also to specify EXACTLY what I wanted. I am picky about my tunes.

I doubt it. Its not THAT big of a difference. They are the same shape hull, just 2 fee longer. If she has not driven an inboard before, there will be a big learning curve, that has nothing to do with the extra 2ft.

What kind of a boat are you coming from?

4 kids, and they probably have friends, right? How cool to have room for them to be able to bring the friends along and teach them how to surf.

We have had 10-11 in our boat for a day on the water on more then 1 occasion and it was actually not that cramped.

Like Ragboy said, driving wont be a big deal. If you're coming from an I/O, you will have to relearn to drive. If new to boating, almost easier to learn.

I agree on the stereo install yourself but if its brand spanking new why hassle with i. Support your local shop and have them do it. Besides they warranty the work, you yourself will probably give the " itll wait till next week warranty" to fix any bugs, besides like me I dont have the time to work on it too busy wakeboarding! Storage wise 24 is a hassle doesnt fit in my garage. Other than that go big like Jason B said GO BIG you cant go wrong. LOL besides why wouldnt you wanna show off a big *** boat like a 24v or a 24ve?

I would go with the 24VE. Two foot more will get you further down the road. If you went 22VE then a couple years later you would want to go larger.I had an 18' I/O that I sold and moved up to the 20V. I would have rather had the 24VE but I have a storage issue. I have a 21 foot garage so the
22VE nor the 24VE will not fit and I can't keep them on driveway. Both the 22 and 24 are super boats and if I had your choice i'd go with the 24VE and put the tunes in later. We have in the family a 23 ft MC Maristar Sport and having all the room is fantastic and we hardly play tunes so IMO they can wait and like was said you can't add 2ft to the boat. The wakes on the 20V seem adequate for the intermediate border. Good luck. Your looking at the right brand

                          Yeeehaaaawww!!!

Now you just have to convince someone in your neck of the woods that they need to go out on it with you for a maiden run. Getting people to go in December is always a bit of a challenge.

Congrats and welcome to the Tige family. YOu will be very happy with the 24. We spent an entire day at Powell driving to Rainbow Bridge and back (30 miles or so) with 4 adults, 4 younger teenagers and 5 kids. We were pretty comfy in my 24V. Don't tell anyone that my sticker only says 12 people. Yours is rated for more these days.
                          Be excellent to one another.

Wow, the 24V is only rated for 12 people? Why is that, my 24Ve is rated for 16. I know its just a sticker, but you know how it is when the ranger pulls you over.
