    Advice 22VE 24VE

I am trying to figure tis out. I have a choice of a brand new 07 22VE and a 24VE they are the same price. The only difference is the 24 comes with no sterio. Should I got with the 24 and put the sterio in later or go with the 22 fully loaded.

If they both have the same options just no speakers in the 24, get the 24 and put on some wet sounds with the money you just saved.

On thye 24VE there is no sterio at all. This dealer orders them with no sound system in it. they will add a sterio for 3000.00

Whats the difference between the stereo in the 22 vs the stereo the dealer will put in for you on the 24?
If the 22 has a nice stereo I wouldn't spend the extra money on the 24 unless you wanted the bigger boat with more space etc.

As far as wakes go you will get a great stock wake but If you want more you will need ballast.

That's how I got mine, without stereo and I had done myself. I have pictures on this boat with ballast, but I don't know without. You can always add a stereo, but you can't add 2 feet to your boat. ;-)

I think they are fine with out ballast its a nice wake. But if your use to ballast dont steer away from it just get it. Another thing as far as sounds wise you can always have the work done cheaper outside and exactly what YOU want and not what the dealer only carries. Then again if I was doing all over again Id still go with the dealers stuff its execellent product, Alpine and Wetsounds. Cant go wrong with either one. Another thing is TIGE owns on gas saving. My brother notice we didnt use up a full tank of gas on an all day wakeboarding run and his MALIBU only goes a little more than half a day. Then again hes running full ballast all day and PW. Personally Id go with the bigger one 24ve just cause I have a big family and you can never go wrong with having more room and storage.

About the ballast, you can always add it later, one thing about the 2007s, is the switches are in a horrible spot. You can have your dealer install a sac system with pumps and switches from rival for not much more, and it will be better.

For now, just get a couple vdrive sacs, a fat brick, and 1 or 2 pumps. Do you have kids? Mine fill the ballast. I am doing the rival system this winter. I think one of the reasons a lot of tige dealers haven't stocked ballast boats, is because they had problems. And the switches down where they are, is really retarded. Apparently they fixed that with 2008.

Anyway, I have 6 kids, and love the 24Ve, you won't be dissapointed, especially if you have a decent sized crew.

your wake on the either boat will have a good wake without ballast, we have a 20i and we wakeboard easily with no ballast, so you should have no problems with a v-drive and a bigger and heavier boat. hope you enjoy w/e boat you decide to get and dont forget about PICS as soon as possible!

Here is one from Xpjim's 24V from the Cold Water Reunion on Mead this past Oct.

Theoretically, the resale would be higher with the 24'. How many people do you know who sell a boat to get a smaller one? How many people sell for a larger one? Go big. Stereos are simple to install yourself if you stay basic.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Good point, Jason. If the boats are similarly equipped: ballast, same engine (go with the 340hp), swim platform, etc. And the only diff is the stereo, go with the 24Ve (if you want that big a boat) and do the stereo your self.

Here is my two cents worth; If you are thinking in terms of what will hold its value the best, then I'd probably go with the 24. Before I bought my boat, I did a ton of research, and I wanted the most boat I could get for the money. In a used boat, I probably would not put that much value in the stereo that comes with it because everyone has different opinions (brands, sounds, etc.) on what they want. Plus, assuming you keep it several years, that top end stereo is old technology when you go to sell the boat. Basically, that stereo will depreciate faster than those extra couple of feet. Now, for the other side. If you are dropping a ton on a new boat, you should be getting what you want to use now. For me, a 24 foot boat is more boat than I generally need. It would be nice when I have friends come out, but normally, it's just 3 or 4 of us. The bigger boat will suck more gas and will also be more of a pain to tow and store. Both sound great; it's just all about how you plan to use it.

One more thing worth mentioning: The 3k of stereo that dealers usually put in is worth about $500 in the real world. Add your own.
