    Tige Newbie Timeline.....

Hey there everyone. I have to say that I am truly impressed with this forum/website and what it has to offer. Now let me get to the point:

A friend and I just purchased an '04 22V from Tige Watersports in Corona, CA and I cannot wait to take shipment. The are installing the tower, CD Player, satellite radio, and a sub-woofer. According to Tom (dealer) it should be ready on Monday the 28th. I'll post pics of our first trip which should take place on the 30th to Lake Nacimiento.

Anyhow, I thought I would start the thread so I can keep you all posted...... in a chronilogical fashion of course. It will include dealer experiences, photos, and more. Being that this is my first boat it should be an interesting journey to say the least.

Anyone have any break in suggestions? Do I have to run it for 20 hrs. before I get behind it? Any and all information is welcome at this point.

I rode behind my first Tige about a year ago and I personally thought it rode better than my buddies Pro Air Nautique. I'm like a kid at Christmas time..... can't wait.

    Cheers.

Don't wait to get behind the boat unles of course you are on of those people that don't fall. When breaking in the engine the biggest thing to avoid is maintaining a constant speed (any speed) for an extended period of time. you want to vary the rpm's of the boat quite often to prevent the cam from breaking in at a fixed rpm and risking a flat lobe.

I would imagine you got the Vortec 335 motor? Just dont go over 4,000 RPM's for the first 20hrs. You can pull people but like blr said, vary the speed. I would hold off on filling up any kind of ballast or wakesurfing till you get closer to your 20hr mark. You dont want to put too much strain on the motor.

            Congrats....

When we picked up our 22V at the end of January I was told that they put the engine through break-in at the factory, so there was no break-in period.
