They have to be REAL close, but as I observed before, Tige used the 24Ve at the pro am. There has to be some reason for that. I was completely expecting they would use the RZ4 or RZ2.

I was thinking about it, people mention on this forum, that the Ve does a bit better in rough water, takes in less, the pickle fork takes in more. The pro am Ve's were REALLY riding low, maybe the issue is, you can weight the 24Ve down more than the others. I would guess equally weighted with stock ballast, it would be a negligable difference.

Da.bell - we will be riding in April buddy! Get your spring suite! I tried riding in the river last week on my friends boat. I will never jump in cold water like that again. COLD!!
I have a full wetsuit on at New Hogans over turkey day. The initial shock was the toes and ankles but after that, the water was a comfortable 58 degrees.

the swimplate form cuts off part of the energy from the wake on the rzs so it won't throw as good as surf wake. Tim is demoing a new platform that won't cut off the energy, and if it works it will be an option for next year. This info all came from tim. He also told me he took off his swimplatform and that was the cause of his not perfect surf wake.

There should be no difference at wakeboarding speeds. The swimstep on the RZ4 (and probably the RZ2 as well) does interfere with a surf wake. Tige is aware of the issue and is apparently working on a solution.

Personally, I'd pick the RZ4 over the 24Ve, but the swimstep is a deal killer because we do so much surfing. When I ran into Tim from Wetsounds out on Lake Austin, they had actually removed the swim platform so they could surf. They had that RZ4 pretty well heeled over and had a killer wake going. He told me that Tige was working on a solution.

Will this new swimstep affect the wakeboarding wake?

I told Tige they needed to make a new swim deck that is surf friendly, glad the ball is rolling.

Thats a pretty big safety issue. I don't want anyone surfing behind my boat without the swim step. There have been times someone has hit the step, or run up on it and that would concern me.

No way! I knew that swim platform was the issue. That was bugging me all summer. I though maybe I just got worse than the previous year. For some reason I figured Tige would have engineered the swim platform for both surfing and wake boarding. How could they have overlooked something like that?

This subject needs its own thread, to make sure TIGE gets the picture that WE WANT A GOOD CLEAN SURF WAKE for our RZ2's and RZ4's.

As mentioned, I spoke to Tige about this a few months ago when they called be about a unrelated issue. I was told they like to hear the feedback and would look into designing a new deck that will help the situation. From what Wetsound said they are doing something.

Wakesurfing is becoming huge. Now is the time for them to make adjustments and start with the R&D to pentertrate that market a bit better.

I know I will be 1st in line for the new surf friendly deck
