    Surfin the sand with Talltigeguy

Following a scenic but windy attempt at wakesurfing with LovinPowell, we had a fun ride with Talltigeguy literally right out of his side yard. He's as fast and agile on the sand as he is on the water. Below's a pic of Talltigeguy on a cliff we rode up to.

Here he his helping Moki Jr. after not quite making it up the hill. It took me two tries and Moki Jr. made it after his 2nd try. It was a little challenging trying to make it up the hill and dodge the shotgun and rifles shooters dotted across the landscape:

Through out the week, we had some great times riding:

Looks like fun. Looks like the landscape of Red Rock Canyon, and other places we used to ride in the California desert growing up.

No, I suspect that would take more time than I am willing to be away from my boat. Where does it start and end? (other than Mexico and Canada, of course)

The sand is very soft and is really not too bad on the bikes. I have not heard of any sand related problems from mine or any others. The worst is all of the rocks. There are rocks everywhere. I have a friend who has had rocks puncture his crankcase twice in the last 6 months. I do not know what he does, but somehow he needs to get the idea to get a plate under there. The second time was on his brand new 2007 CRF 450.
                  Be excellent to one another.

We ride alot of mountain stuff so lots of rocks.Noboby rides without skid plates here.I heard that certain sand can be fine and gets into your brakes, crank etc and can do some damage if not cleaned properly.Just thought I would get your take as like I said,we dont have much sand.I would love to ride some dunes---I sense a family road trip!

                      Sparky,
I have never tried that trail before, but I don't think I could endure that long of ride either! What states does it go through?

                      Bibbs,
I don't know if it causes any additional wear or not. I always rinse off my bikes after each trip, re-lubricate the chain, and usually clean the air filter.

It's broken up into 2 legs, but different outfits have different routes. I have yet to do it but my father-in-law has done it. Tecate to Fallon, and Fallon to Canada. Roughly 2500 miles in 13 days. I'm doing it either next year or the following. It's about $2500 and includes room/chase truck/bike transport. I've heard it's an epic trip.
