    Disappointing Thanksgiving Friday

We were looking forward to go out for a nice post Thanksgiving day on the lake. When we left our house the sun was shining and there was very little breeze. But by the time we got to our lake, the wind was blowing unbelievably hard.

Our first stop was at the close lake, Quail Lake.

We thought Sand Hollow would be better so we tried it next:

We were wrong, it was worse:

So, so as not to waste the trip we decided to take some pictures. Here is my crew along with Moki and his brave son:

Here are a couple more scenic pictures:

It was a bummer, but we will try again tomorrow.

Sounds like tomorrow is going to be a better bet to break out the motorcycles.

There is a town about 4 miles east of there called Hurricane...makes you wonder how it got that name.
    Be excellent to one another.

Wow....those lakes look way down too. Wonder how many of those rock formations are usually under 40 feet of water.

      C'mon rain and snow!

Pic with Lovin Powell with brave yet disappointed family:

According to TallTigeguy's formula (water temp + air temp > 100), we were plus 8, but now we need a new formula to factor in wind speed.

There's a duck out there trying to negotiate the waves:

With all of that Cardinal and Gold, one would think that we were USC fans.

                  Fight on, beat UCLA!!!!

That is not a duck. It is called a coot.

They are kind of like the carp of ducks, not good to eat, so they just proliferate like...carp.

                    Nice pics!

I bet this Wednesday will be good to me.

The coots (couldn't remember their name when typing last night) are always fun to see how long you can keep them underwater. They usually dive rather than fly when pursued.

Ahaney, what was your water temp and air temp?

Tall, good luck on Wednesday. Post some pics if you get a chance.

Water temp was 62 and Air was 69. A full wet suit worked great.
