Tige needs to build a bigger boat!

I might be the only person who wants a Tige version of the mastercraft X-80, but it fits what I need. My wife and I are having our first baby in June and I'm a little concerned about my RZ4. I don't want to do the typical freak out and sell the boat move, I'd like to go the other direction and get a bigger boat. I want extra stability and safety.

Every other weekend during the boating season, we would dunk the bow. Occasionally, we would dunk it pretty badly. I already posted a thread about this issue looking for help, and I'm doing all the right things when I turn around. The truth is, I can never have adults up front and I can rarely have more than 3 or 4 little kids in the bow. This is also a symptom of our crowded lake. I don't want water to come over the bow or windshield of our RZ4 and hit our infant. A 28ft boat would probably not have this issue, even with people up front.

This is sad, but my wife and I only surf. Half the regulars on my boat are goofy footed and everyone else is regular. I don't now if there's any truth to this mastercraft picture, but supposedly the counter rotating props create an even wake. It would be sweet to surf two-up. I would also like to have two motors for a ton of reasons. You can "Tank" the boat making the boat easier to maneuver. Backup motor in-case one craps out in the middle of Lake Powell, it's happened many times.

I've been considering getting away from Wakeboard boats and buying a go fast boat, all my brothers have big DCB cats (Dave's Custom Boats). I really like them, but my wife thinks I'll miss surfing too much. We thought a bigger Wakeboard boat might be a good compromise, however the mastercraft 28 looks dated and it's not even close to the same quality as Tige. So, I think Tige needs to build a big boat. There's got to be other people who would like a 28ft Tige.

What do you think the chances of Tige building a 28ft twin screw might be? I'll be the first in line if it happens, I'd love to wrap that big boat. I know this may sound like a lame thread, but if I talk about a bigger Tige, maybe they'll think about it for a couple seconds.

How rough is your lake? I have the 24Ve, and with 6 kids, there are always 8 of us, at least. We often take other families with us, which is why we went with the 24 footer. My kids love the bow, and often there are 5 of them up there, including my 16 and 15 yr old, who are ALWAYS up there. My youngest is 2, and been on the boat since weeks old. The 24Ve def takes in water easier than my runabout before, but it isn't bad. The only time its an issue for me is turning on my own wake, when I have to be quick.

If you went to a x80 type boat, you lose all of the sportiness you still get in the 24, its just a big tank. I wish you lived close, I would invite you out with my family, that RZ4 is a nice boat.

Our lake is nuts and there's people everywhere. We usually have 10-14 people on our boat every weekend. My wife is really social and invites people out on the boat all the time. The 28ft would be Tank, but it would be really stable and a Tige version would be much sportier than the MC. Our first 24ft boat seemed big for about a day then it all became relative. I want the characteristics of a wakeboard boat with the space of a deck boat. I'm considering keeping my boat near Lake Mead, so a bigger boat would be nice for that lake. Mead is just a short flight to Vegas from Denver. That's where everyone in my family keeps their go fast boats. We all work together and have a second office in Henderson, so it wouldn't be a big deal.

Maybe a pontoon boat would serve you well. Keep one group on the "safe" boat and one group on the sport boat.
Of course that opens more problems & maintenance issues but, that's the best way we've found. We normally anchor my frineds pontoon and use that as "home base." We'll go around and play on my boat then take breaks/ grill/ swim whatever by the pontoon.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Dose the X-80 not have a bathroom in it?

It does have a bathroom... That picture at the top does not really show how big that boat is... It's massively huge in person...

Have you looked at that new Four Winns with the pickle fork bow? It wouldn't be the tank the MC is, its designed to be a crossover, but not an inboard.

I dunnow, once you get bigger than 24, it seems you almost defeat the purpose of having an inboard.

True. One thing about the X80 also, is it doesn't have more room than like the x45. The x45 is rated to carry more people. We drove in the x80 and the x45, the x45 was designed for a lot of people, the x80 was designed to make fewer people more comfortable. The x45 is rated for 18, and I think the x80 is only rated for 15, save as the RZ2, less than the RZ4.

I can attest to the lake that Nuck' N goes to as a rough lake. For some reason it gets windy there very easy and makes it pretty rough in minutes, add to that an overcrowding situation and you have yourself a disaster waiting to happen. I won't even go to the lake he goes to even if it is 20 miles closer to me than the one I normally go to.

If you get a DCB though, you won't be taking that to Chatfield will you? I assume that would go to Powell or Havasu or LOTO or something along those lines.

Don't shoot me, but you may want to look at the MB Tomcat. If I were going to get a pickle-fork I would heavily consider it. It is one of the few pickle-forks that stays dry. It is very close to the "party deck boat/Vdrive surfer" that you are looking for. But not as absurdly (sp) big as the X80. I have been in the bow of the MB with three other adults and we stayed dry.

You could probably get a heck of a deal on one of those F23 Tomcats here too. The dealer for those in CO has had the same boats for over a year! I drive past the same 3 boats everyday and just wonder when someone will finally purchase one. The Tomcat that I saw is black and white with the jagged graphics...

The MB dealer in Portland (Activeh20.com) sells them like hotcakes. They are great guys. Wish they were the Tige dealer.
Goes to show you how important a good local dealer is.

I just moved to Portland from Denver a year ago. Not sure if I were in Denver if I'd have confidence in a dealer that has had the same 3 boats for sale all season. I think finding a great dealer is almost more important than the manufacturer when purchasing any powersports equipment (boats, bikes, sleds, skis). sorry... off topic.
