    Tige Upholstery

Just wanted to find out if other owners are having trouble with the seams coming apart on the stiching of the seats in the back of the boat?

I have an 04 24V and this is a real problem.

I have an 03 21IR and the rear stadium seat ripped after a year and a half. It's a known problem due to the seam in the middle of the seat. I took it to a upholstery place and they made it better then new, took that seam out and no issues what so ever. I also have large friends always stepping in and out on it so this was the reason.

It's one of those things, Tige does it to make it look better, but if you use your boats a lot just save your self the grief and have it redone.

I haven't had a problem with the stitching however, I have had a problem with the backerboard to a cushion and the handle to that cushion coming apart. Both are going to be warranty issues this off season (Now, if Tige agree's or doesn't agree with me might be another story).

I still do not understand why manufacturers insist on adding seams in the boats. They always tear. I know it looks like a nicer seat, but it is not functional at all and causes problems.

This seems to be a common complaint. Mine is an '02 and it is in the beginning stages where the seams are seperating just a bit.

Take out the middle cushion (if you have one) on you rear bench seat and put some Gator Grip down on the fiberglass. Then when people step into the boat, the seat isn't getting stepped on. That has helped mine.

This is why they changed the interior in 2005. I had to replace mine within the first year of ownership. My friend's '03 is the same way.

lol yea its like $2 per £1 so i try to buy stuff from US when i can lol, can get stuff half the price only problem is postage, was gonna get a new snowboard at a good price but the postage costs to NI was $90 O.o stuff is usually cheaper over in USA, especially the petrol, our petrol is way more expensive than yours though, its over £1 per litre so our weekends are not cheap

Although I have no issues with the craftsmanship of my vinyl after 2 yrs, my only complaint is the ease of getting stained/dirty. After only 1 season, the vinyl looked dirtier/dingier then my 8yr old FourWinns did. Way more effort to keep clean then my previous 2 boats.

Yeah my seems are coming apart as well. The rear bench seat was already repaired once from a split on the fabric and the guy who fixed it did a pisspoor job of fixing it, it looks like he put caulk in there.
