Thanks it actually isnt that big 24x28...I wanted 36x40 but property set backs in WA made it impossible to build any bigger the 24x28 on my land.

wakeOC07: for the money you'll spend on all that hardware, you can buy surfborard racks with padding on them for $25 that hold two boards with bindings, or at least 3 or 4 w/o!!!!
ill get them for you if need be!!!!

HUH??? 1 2x4 or 2x6 5-10 bucks tops and 2-3 10ft sticks of pvc at 3$ ea material was under 20$ easy and if I padded the pvc add few things of pipe insulation for under 10$ total cost is well under 30$ and holds 6+boards...

      Here is my racks

TallTigeGuy, here is my racks. I have a grid installed on my racks because I bought my racks from Copeland's when they were going out of business.

The ones in the catalog I pointed you two are the same thing except they have two points where you put screws through the wall into the studs and mount them.

I have a Wake board and surf board on one set of hooks and the wake boards on the other.

        Inexpensive board racks

These can be purchased at Home depot for under five bucks and include mounting hardware. I did spend an extra dollar fifty and added pipe insulation to prevent scratches.

How would you guys build some in garage board racks to store your boards?

It is a long story, but I have about 300 feet of 2 inch PVC pipe, so I might start with that somehow.
talltigeguy here is a link to racks I have had up for 6 years for the skis in my garage. Cheap on ebay under ski racks.
