    Tige's powered by diesel????

    Hey everyone.

My friend in Stillwater (No not you phil) called me up yesterday and asked me when tige's got diesel's in them. I said they don't and he begged to differ.

It stillwater, OK there is a lifted dodge dually that has vinyl on it and it says Team Tige, Powered by Diesel. and "Tige Diesel"

has anyone else there seen it? He is going to take a pic next time he sees it and sends it to me. Has anyone heard anymore about this? I mean I know that it has been mentioned on here, but no one has any facts on it.

    Hope to hear from someone.

i'd love to have a diesel tige, and would buy one asap. But they don't sell diesel any where on my lake so that mean i'm screwed.

Talk about built in ballast, the weight of a deisel motor would throw a large wake for a no ballast boat. Especially in V drive.
Don't know if I could stand the smell though.

Smell? have you not smelled the new one's? they run so clean and there is hardly any smell at all, with an FAE you would not smell anything at all.

I'd buy one asap, I'd agree with Spenchey!!! awesome ballast!!

Um, I was told you "can't get one" in it. So..... not sure that must have been a prototype or something.

I was told all the boats shipped to japan had to be diesel powered.

Several areas along the Colorado river if you don't have the CARB 6 sticker, ya can't pass through, nor beach, dock or anchor.

The Channel at Havasu is one place, and we hear Tahoe is brewing up some restrictions as well.

Guess I am still in the dark ages, don't have one (wish I did) so I didn't realize that. I wonder what the difference in weight between the deisel motor and the small block is?

Diesel is about $3.65 a gallon right now. No thanks. If anything, I'd prefer an LNG conversion. LNG and propane are only about $1.70 a gallon here. I can't get the guy in AZ that builds the conversion kits for carb'd motors to send me any info though. I've got tanks and everything already.

I know they have made leaps and bounds with how clean diesel engines run in the last few years, but I think I would still have to believe it to see it. With installed FAE it may be ok, but being directly behind one without it may be a different story. My neighbor has a brand new white 2007 diesel VW Jetta, and it still gets that black soot type of residue around the bumper near the tail pipe. It's in no like the old ones where the back of your whole car was covered in it, but I'm wondering if you wouldn't get some of that stuff on the back of the boat or worse on the sun pad, which you(or the kids) in turn smear throughtout the rest, of your formally clean boat. Then again, maybe the swim grid would prevent any of that from happening as well. I've wakeboarded behind an old 34ft cabin cruiser before and that was not so much fun. Imagine sticking your mouth right on the tail pipe of an F350 Superduty, that's what I'd compare it to. Even with the new technology I, wondering if being 6ft behind the exhaust, surfing, still wouldn't be nasty.
