Direct drive version of a Z1???

Looks like no 21i is up for 2008... I wonder if a Z1 looking DD will be launched mid year??? Anyone heard anything about this?????

My I dont think there is enough market to have 3 DD models. If they do a Z1i, I bet they would release it as a replacement for either the 22i or 20i.

I can see it happening.. the 20i is entry level and the 22i is getting older... I would like to see an aggressive styled direct drive and think it would fit well in their line up!

If you look at it at business standpoint, you will see there is no reason for Tige to have a competition ski boat. Mastercraft, Malibu, and Correct Craft already own the ski industry.

Like Dents said, the 20i is focused for maybe a family looking to do some slalom skiing and wakeboarding and maybe some surfing. And the 22i is for someone looking for a uniquely designed DD wakeboat.

Unless Tige comes up with a miracle of making the wake disappear and could give the Big 3 a run for their money, they wont be building any new DD.

maybe a radical Z1 DD to replace the 22i.. It has not really changed in around 5 years so might be time for a replacement. That way Tige will have a entry level family/slalom DD in the 20i and a Z1 DD for the larger more upscale wakeboard boat? Good thought anyway.

I agree im tired of the look of the 22i, mastercraft brought the best of both worlds with the V drive configuration in conjunction with the DD performance, the 214. Pretty neat little boat.
They need to overhaul the 22i.

perhaps you're right... maybe a 22ie? Z2i? Z1i? I personally wouldnt buy a direct drive, but can see that it would fit their lineup.

If it has the cool seating arrangement like the 22i DD we'll be very interested.

It'll be a eye catcher at the Boat Shows, and unique.
Especially because Tiges DD seating is far more plush than the competitions. It is a Tige strongpoint.

First queston wife asked was if we could get the DD seating arrangement in the z's?
