Nautique 210 review

Has anyone read the Nautique 210 review in the Dec issue, p24, of Trailer Boats? It's not on thier website or I would cut and paste (i'm too lazy to retype it right now ) but if you substitute the word TAPS in place of Hydro-Gate, it reads just like the description of a Tige, hmmmmmmmmm. After years of the Tige Convex hull/TAPS system being bashed by non-owners that dont understand it, look what one of the top 3 has evolved to.

Just my interpretation of the wright up, and not my opinion of the boat as I have not had one in the water yet.

Thats cool to see the something Tige designed, the shape of the hull and with the combo of the plate being used on a top 3 boat

The 210 was one of the boats I was thinking about before I bought my 20V. But since I waited around for 3 months(and multiple phonecalls) and our local Nautique dealer never did get one in to test drive, I said screw even thinking about the nautique. The best he would do was try and put me in contact with a guy that had a two year old one, three hours away from me, to go drive. Here's where that bit about dealers comes into play when buying a boat. My experience aside, I have a buddy that said really good things about the 210 he has been behind.

I just just find it interesting that the most mis-understood hull technology in the modern tow boat era, has now shown up under one of the "top" tow boats on the market.

Yeah I have no idea of what the wake is really like. From what my buddy told me, the wake at board speeds was really nice, but at skiing speeds not so good. He said the skiing wake tossed him around quite a bit. As far as the boat itself, he said the interior was really nice, which doesn't surprise me because nautique has always had nice interiors in my opinon.

I had the wife sit in one one day that we were down there, and she said it would be a cold day in hell before she ever owned one. The floor is really shallow so you knees are above your ears. No way you could spend a comfertable day on the water like in a Tige.

I like the correct craft interiors and the drain in the floor. I think they use nice solid hardware, and the way you can move the seatbacks is a plus, but the freeboard is really low and the bow is too small. The forward leaning tower was a deal breaker for me as well, as it would be way to difficult to maneuver it into my garage. The wake on the old 210 was crazy, and I hear this one is a little more mellow, as far as the transition goes, but that's not a bad thing.

Gee, if I didn't know they were talking CC, I would think that came straight out of a Tige ad! Just substitute Gate for Taps. Amazing how forward thinking Charlie and his engineers were!

Everyone's got a trim plate nowadays. It's all about hull design.

I can't find a picture of the stupid thing, but I always thought it was different than just a trim tab. The description is exactly what TAPS does, however.

Believe it or not, but that is down (small wake mode if you want to say). If you look close, you can see the slots in the plate at the 2 screws.

I rode behind a 211 once. With the plate down, the wake got a little lip on it. It was quite nice.
