Do you have any more shots of your boat garage? I am in a dilemma right now, build a shop on our property or buy a small warehouse.

I am looking for idea's on shops, The issue is that I do not want a big box in my yard, I want it to tie into the house. ( like yours)

If anyone has pics of cool shops please post.

I will take some pics this week end. The garage is attached via a breezeway and roof. Our fine city will only allow a 1000 sf detacthed garage with a maximum hiegth of 15'. So I designed the garage to be connected with common roof and foundation which is the ordinance. It is my dog house, it is 24' wide x 44' deep in one bay and 32' deep in the other. I can park the rig and boat in the deep side and that is where it sits all summer, ready to go most times. In the winter the boat moves to the other side as it is more out of the way there, but requires tower to be folded down. I have the spce heated and spend time out in the dog house whenever I can. The biggest bonus is there is 9' tall storage shop under both garages. I built this home before concrete and steel went through the roof, but I would still pony up to do it again. I spent 7 years designing this home and he is taking all the credit, but this is it. I got my man space and my wife got her kitchen and bath, here is the bath, she tried to outspend me in the garage, but I got to keep up. Good deal for me.

I wonder how you all keep up with payments on those New/Nice trucks and 07-08... is it just buy a decent house and dump money on a nice boat? Thats what I plan on

This is my everyday driver. The GMC/Chevy extra cab is like a honda accord up here in the mountains. 6 inch superlift and nitto terra grappler 33's. Will go to 35s when the 33s wear out.



Hear it is, when I JUST got the lift, and just got the boat. The lift was not adjusted yet, so my truck looks dorky squatted down, doesn't do that anymore.





Here is our Yukon XL K2500 with autoride and 8.1L vortec. This is a towing beast. Incredible power, torque, and traction.

That's to buy plans already drawn. To start from scratch is worse, that's what I did and now he is trying to make more on them if someone else wants a copy. That is how architects make extra coin. Charge the guy through the nose to do an original design and then turn around and sell it to anyone else, of course I won't see any design fees or anything on any plans he sells off my design. That's life!

It is called get an education. Learn several skills and be a very versitile marketable person. The number one thing I say is EDUCATION and invest in realestate ASAP.

So buy your first house and make the toys your second thing in life after you have built up a good foundation. I wanted a boat when I was in my early 20's and I saved for 10 years to buy the boat I wanted CASH this way I would not have a big toy payment. It is bad enough to just keep up with the maintenance.

Yes it's 24x30. That's the biggist size I can have per our building codes thats not attached to the house. I still rent some warehouse space for my Falcon, Mustang and other toys. Plus when I need to do a project in the shop I'll take the boat there, I don't like to get dust & stuff on my baby. It's only a mile away. Of course the 24x30 is not big enough, but I would imagine if it was 60x60 it would still need to be bigger!

I agree with Anhaney. EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION, and then earn interest with your money instead of paying it. My wisdom is borrow if your asset will appreciate in value, pay cash if it depreciates. It's worked for me.
