    Fresh Air Exhaust Angle

What angle is your FAE? I used have my angling back away from the boat like the instructions stated. However, I get a lot of water spray. I heard from several people that they are putting the FAE very close to the TAPS plate as I have positioned in the photo below. Unfortunately, I did this after winterizing so I don't know how it will work. What angle do you have?

Mine is just slightly back, maybe 10 degrees or so, and I do not seem to have any spray problems.

I still wish I could have gotten a stainless looking one!
    Be excellent to one another.

I think you have the downtube on backwards. Here is how I have mine.

Ours is the same, about 10 degrees back, no problem with spray.

The pipes are SS. Can't the powder coat be stripped and the tubes polished?

I used to have mine similiar to yours Billspin, but I got a lot of spray. My downtube appears to be on the same way your picture is showing. Your spray doesn't look bad at all!

          Tall / R&T,
I will try the 10 degrees back.

          Thanks!

Moki, I guess I meant to say angled backwards/differently from mine. The spray we get really doesn't interfear with boarding. A little bit when surfing but niether outweigh the noise or fumes it helps with.

Actually, no he doesn't. This is how Larry Mann installed mine:

His boat is older. They newer ones angle up.

I had my angle like Dog's as well. I seem to get a lot of spray. I will give the angle back like in the like pic above and see what happens. Only downside, I won't be able to post the results until next year.

                            Dogbert,

How does the FAE effect the overall performance of your boat? Does it create any drag? Does the boat track or steer differently? Those rods that go straight up from the FAE to the swim grid, are they attached to the swim grid for support? If so, is it a pain to take the swim grid off? Reason I ask is I have to take mine off in order to fit my boat in the garage and wonder if that would be a magor undertaking with the FAE attached.

Here is the image that Larry Mann suggests, however he adds that if anybody finds a better angle then let him know:
