    Ok...Mastercraft sucks!

Just kidding. If it is a smokin' deal, it may be hard to pass up. You should give us more details.

Were the towers in that time pretty flimsy?

It has every option available from '03. Triple KGB, the tower is the '04 zeroflex. Low hours. The only thing keeping me from listing mine for sale right now so I can trade up is the weather. I might actually list mine later tonight, just to see if I get any bites.

Don't do it... Don't do it... OK do it. Some things to think about it, no TAPS, rougher water ride. The newer MCs hulls are supposed to be much better.

Do you mean quality or shape?

MC has confused the non-MC owner by their constant hull shifting strategy. Isn't the 03 X-2 the same hull as the 00 X-star or some such nonsense?

They're still not great. Unless it's a killer deal, you won't be happy.

I dont think its possible seeing as the x-2 is 20ft 96" beam and the x-star is 22.5ft and 100" beam.

Mastercraft does the same as supra. They take their smaller boats for skiing and add a tower, ballast, different graphics and then give it a new name. Like the X-7 is the prostar 197 with a tower etc. Supra has and still does the same thing.

What I think moki meant was that they had improved the hulls so they handle the rough water better.

All in all you cant go wrong with any towboat. If it benefits you to sell your boat and pull the trigger on the x-2 go ahead. I would do a little more digging on the boat, sounds like you are jumping into it. Research the model see the pros and cons to it over your boat. Give it a good one, two, three times over to make sure everything works and you are getting what you are paying for, so you dont sell your boat that works and end up with something that breaks down the second time out.

                  Its your choice...

To top it off the wife says "Buy a v-drive, we need one". I would take a comparable Tige', but it wouldn't be the same steal. I am not going to jump the gun on making the purchase, but I see a Vdrive before next season, which is only 4 months away.

                      Zad,

I think you missed the point. What MC has done is when they retired the old X-star (?99-03+/-), and then came out with the pickle forked X-star, they then reintroduced the very same old X-star, but with another name, it may have been the X-1. MC takes the cake when the same hull is in production for 12 years, but has 4 different boat names attached to it, depending on the year you are talking about.

The main point is that I do beleive that the X-2 is a proven wakemaking hull, even though MC has not had an X-2 for that many years.

Hey check it out SP and if the price is good and you like the boat then go for it! Next year will more than likely be the last season in mine as well. We'll be moving into a Vdrive also and i'm pretty much set on the Sanger V215 after spending a lot of time in one this last season. Not that i don't like the Tigés but they are pricing themselves right out of the reasonably priced market and i can get a great boat at a great price in the Sanger.

Don't forget the z1, razz. They are builty specifically to compete in that niche you are in. It will be interesting to see if it competes, but that is exactly what Tige is trying for. A V215 will go for 45K +, right?

Yeah a well loaded V215 goes for around $45K. While i like the Z1 to an extent i'm still having issues with the angular styling it just doesn't seem to flow. Also just from the pictures of the Z1 the V215 seems to have more cabin room. But i'm holding off judgement 'till the boat show in January.
