I was thinking the same thing when it came time to get a boat. I rode on both boats and did not like the way the 20v or 20i rode. As soon as i rode the 21i i knew it was the boat i wanted to get. If you can go for the 21i it's a way better boat becuase of its size.
cmb22v - i would have to disagree with you there, I have owned both and ride pretty well. I see advantages to both. I have also taken instruction from biche and coby and other pros behind I's and they had no lack of air or tricks when they did there demo runs. But then again that's just my .02
But, if they were behind a V, they would have gone bigger (j/k) .
I am not saying you can't ride behind an I, but there is a reason that all of the boats are going v drive. Some of it is room in the boat, a lot of it is the size and shape of the wake. I have ridden behind 22i's and 22v's, both weighted down and dry, and the v drive just has a better wake. Same is true for Malibu, Mastercraft and Correct Crafts boats...
after being spanked around about the direct drive thing (see page 1), i'd have to say that either boat would probably be great for you. test drive each and see what your personal choice is.....
