I use this 5 gallon bucket. I let the boat run until the thermostat opens up. I turn on the heater and shower. Then turn off the water and pour 4 gallons of rv antifreeze in the bucket and wait for it to come out the shower and the exhaust. The first year I did this I pulled the return hose from the heater off to make sure antifreeze was in there and it was. I then normally do a complete fluid change. Next is 303 on all vinyl surfaces then the complete wax job. I wax the bottom of the boat also, I like the shine vs the extra speed or whatever. I store my boat in a heated garage that is attached to my house so this is all just super extra precaution, but I don't think you can be to safe.
Good to know that the fluid is reaching the heater. I was going to check mine as well.
