Tige added rocker to the hull instead of hook. Page 22 of Boating Industry magazine (Oct 05 with Charlie Pigeon and the new 22Ve on the cover) states that the TAPS was introduced in 95 and TAPS 2 and the Convex V hull were released in 03.

In 1995, Tigé made a dramatic move by taking the hook out of the inboard hull. It was the first dramatic modification to the inboard hull in over 50 years. Tigé also introduced TAPS to control the running attitude of its variable hull in '95. Tigé has since refined this improvement in inboard hull design by developing the ConvexV, fully rocker hull in 2003. Tigé received a U.S. Patent on the ConvexV hull in 2004.
        Hope this helps.

Jason B was half correct so he should post a question also.

          ????? *EDITED*

What was unique about Tige's 1998 yr model (built in 97) DD, the 2200i, that was a first in the Tow Boat industry.

In 1997 it was not called the 2200i. It was called the 2150. It was changed in 1998 to 2200i.

You are probably referring to the 102" wide beam?

I edited the question to make it more clear, thanks.

Oh yeah, your correct about the increased beam, but Tige.com says 100" so you are correct as far as i'm concerned

                It had a V hull.

This seemingly simple question is causing to much confusion so Jason B should just post the next ???

Here is what the Tige.com Tige Company Timeline says. This is where I drew my question from

                    1997; Tige builds the industry's first 100" beam DD inboard...the 2200i

1998; Tige launches the 21V riders ed. The first boat built specifically for wakeboarding.

Does anybody out there now who was first with the pickle fork bow ? I know for a fact that Chris Craft, Bonita, and Glastron all had them in the 60s but was wondering who was first.

Are you asking about a pickle fork or a tri-hull??
