Picked up a new tow vehicle - 07 Silverado

Picked this up on Monday night. My '03 Avalanche was getting tired from being overworked every weekend this past summer towing my boat. I think this should do the job New '07 Silverado 2500HD with the Duramax and Allison tranny.

I drove the F250 and loved it too, they just couldn't find me an all black one with black cloth interior - Ford makes you upgrade beyond an XLT to get a dark interior (stupid). To top the new purchase off, Chevy is giving 2 Rocky Mountain Super Passes (Season ski passes to Copper/Winter Park) this month too. So now I'll be able to go ride (snowboard unfortunately) this winter for Free Ninety-Nine!

    Couple of pics:

    Chrooooome...(possibly too much)

    Ahhh - fuel mileage...

    All bizness:

Now I need to sell the 20's and K&N kit from my Avalanche and see if I can scrape some funds together for wheels and tires and a tonneau cover for the new beast.

It's gonna look so bad azz towing my baby...

        Sweet ride..........

Just wait until you tow your boat for the first time, you won't even know it behind the truck!!!!!!!

I've wanted a Harley F250 for years but have still never found a used one, can't afford a new one as they are $55k+ market adjustments...

It was hard to give up that Avalanche, I loved that truck. So functional, and IMO cool looking. The ride quality is already making me miss it...but once that boat is back there, I will forget all about the Avalanche. The Av just didn't have the power up here in Colorado to tow that thing a few times a week.

Timmy did you trade your AV? I bought one in 02 and had to sell it when I bought my place in Chicago before I moved to Colorado. I've been wanting to get another one ever since I loved that truck. One of the best designs they've come out with in years!

Yep, I traded it in - it has some issues and I'm too honest to try and sell something to someone and tell them it didn't. If you liked your old Av, you would love the new one! I contemplated getting one with the 6.0L but was worried about the gas mileage with it plus I knew if I got a diesel, I would never be able to complain about lack of towing power.

I have a Yukon XL, 2002, with the 8.1, and I had the 454 before that. The 8.1 is AMAZING on power and torque. I tows my 24Ve like its not there, you can forget you are towing sometimes. Its an amazing engine.

                    @timmy

Is that center front console, is it a seat also? With all my kids, I can never get buckets, that looks cool.

I have an 03 Suburban with the 8.1L and I wouldn't say you don't notice it is back there. It struggles with my boat on the drive to Echo from time to time. Gets about 9-10 while towing too. It also eats some oil. How about yours? I know part of the problem is that it has the 3.73 and not the 4.11 gears. Do you have the 4.10?

Yep! I hate buckets in trucks, I want a bench so I can have the option of hauling 6 people. It has 2 consoles, 1 in the armrest that turns into the seat back and 1 in the seat bottom.

                          Here's with the armrest down:

oh man, that is cool. I have a 2002 sierra, which I love. I have a 6" lift on it, and terra grapplers, its awesome. Not ready to part with it yet, but that new center console with a seat is awesome. My 6 yr old always gets the priveledge of sitting there, when I am haulin 6 of us. He always covers his nuts when I go to put my drink in the cupholder. We call that seat, "NutsGone" as opposed to Shotgun.
