I play on a 42" Samsung plasma with surround sound. I use to play on a 57" projection but I found it easer to play on a smaller tv.

I have a xbox elite in the main room, with HDMI, 1080P 50" plasma. Its pretty cool. In my office, I have a 37" LCD mounted on the wall.
Halo 3 is great, especially the 4 player co-op. We beat the campaign (me and my 2 sons) the wed night the day after it came out.
But it doesn't compare to half life 2. Half life 2 REALLY has a story, and not through cut scenes. The story reveals itself through actual game play. It is amazing, and completely immersive. And if you haven't played it before, you will actually find youself turning on the lights, cuz there are parts that will scare the crap out of you.
And the Team Fortress 2 multiplayer, is incredible. It levels the playing field more, because you have CLASSES of players. Each having a big strength and a big weakness. You choose from like a sniper, spy, soldier, pyro, demo guy, a heavy dude with a gatlin gun, and several more. Its a blast.
Maybe now that bungie is out from under microsoft, they will go back to being more like Valve.
My second favorite ever game, was by bungie, just before Halo, it was called ONI. First game I remember to mix martial arts and shooter, it was a blast.
I wish I had more time to play, I only usually like playing multiplayer co-op stuff with my kids, but HL2 is an exception.
I am planning on building a game room in my garage this winter now that I have leased some warehouse space. Thinking of 4 26" LCD TVs on the walls with 360s. We have the wii also, but nothing in multi yet. It would cost a lot of money, but with 8 of us, I could see doing a few more TVs in the garage, so the whole family could play TF2. Its that kind of game, cuz each person in family will gravitate to a different class of player, like their personality. RJ would be the scout or sniper, I would be the engineer or the heavy, whitney would be the soldier, etc.http://wake9.com/

That would be sweet.....
Then you could host underground gaming comps...Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

That is what I am going to work on this weekend but the 5.1 Dolby Digital on Halo 3 is to die for right now....

At this time, it is connected via the component cableand it also has the HDMI cable in it. I have switched the xbox to send out a 1080p signal and said yes to the setting. Hooked up the HDMI cable and the tv didn't show anything.... So, I have some googling to do this weekend and hopefully a fix. But, at this time the components are putting out a 1080i... Which is still good in my opinion. But, I paid for 1080p so I want 1080p... Can you blame me?????

Bringing it back...
Am I too late in the thread to bring it back and find out which division your daughter rides in?
I talked w/our state INT director last night and she said that some of our kids are having trouble adjusting to the different boats/pulls/venue. And I'm sure the nerves. I hope they all have a positive experience, including your Jet Pilot ripper!
I've always thought it useful to ride behind as many different boats and in as many varied conditions as you can to try and prepare yourself for whatever comes up - whether a butter sesh behind my Tige or kneehigh chop behind a friend's Moomba...

The best way to have all this connected well, is with a good receiver. I use the Denon 3800 series, had a 3805 (2005) and just upgraded a couple months ago to 3808CI (2008). It allows you to bring in many types of video sources, like component (480P to 1080I) HDMI up to 1080P, svideo, and even composite, and you have one HDMI cable to TV. This unit has about the best amp you can get without having to step up to separate amps and receiver.
So, I have a monster power cleaner, Toshiba HDDVD player, comcast HDDVR, xbox 360 with hdmi, nintendo wii with component, and an apple TV with hdmi. All into the 3808 and one cable to TV. Definitive tech speakers and subs all connected to the 3808 also.
Works really well. Sound and video are PURE and clean, also the 3808CI will upconvert all signals to 1080 or 1080p, your preference.http://wake9.com/

I have my 360 hooked up to my home theater system. It's awesome. Thinking about upgrading this winter to the Elite so I can go even higher def.
Nothing like playing Halo or Call of Duty while the whole room shakes.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

I don't have a receiver like that....That is a very nice one I am sure... However, my receiver is about 10 years old and pumps out the audio part of the stuff great but does not connect video like HDMI or components... However, it does accept optical cords.
and that is how I get the 5.1 into the receiver but I have to connect the HDMI cables to the TV for now...
