Ok guys go ahead and shoot me now. I am between an 06 20V 290 hours loaded up pretty well no ballast, upgraded stereo no tower speakers and an 07 Malibu V Ride with full ballast, power wedge, hot water, illusion tower however was at a wake camp but taken care of by the dealer with 490 hours with 2.5 years left on the warranty but 4 k more (boat has everything). Why go with the Tige other than price I think they are both great boats just looking for your thoughts and honesty. Mostly going to be wakeboarding. Still not totally sold on the idea of not needing ballast because of the TAPS and Convex V. So I think I will have to add an auto ballast system which I am guessing is $1500 to $2000 so pretty much the same in price. Thanks guys.

The wedge falls off.
You will need ballast for surfing. Ballast for the weekend boarder you will be able to do without. For proof look at the "rate my wake" thread.

Tige' seems to be holding value as well as any other big 3 brand. I would drive them both and see which one tickled me the best. Then I would take the 4k difference and use it to fill the tank.http://www.wakeboatworld.com

Hmmm, that is a tough one. You are getting an 07 vs. 06 but 490 hours vs 290 hours. I obviously like Tige, but I have several friends who have a Malibu and think that they are decent boats.
Tige Positives:
Lower hours
TAPS
More tower height
Better surf wake
Higher sides
Tige Negatives:
One year older
Need to add ballast
Malibu positives:
Higher resale value?
One year newer
Malibu negatives:
High hours
Not a big fan of the illusion tower - looks good but limited in what speakers and bimini you can have.
Based on the above reasoning, I would go with the Tige. But neither choice is a bad choice.

Here is something that stands out to me: 2yr old Tige with less options is only 4k less then a 1 yr old Bu that is decked out. Now, I know that 490hrs is high for a 1 yr old boat, so the Bu will take a hit for the hrs. Only a 4k diff tells me how much more the higher priced boats depreciate.
Tiges just seem to hold thier value better. Far more comfortable ride IMHOMikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Helmut, just go with the Tige...tigeowners.com is way cooler than malibucrewCursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

Never say never. I found my plate coming off when I bought my boat. It was an easy fix and I have not had a problems since then. . I do have to agree though it never did come off.

You will find this alot on here. Most Tige owners don't degrade the competition, but give honest and objective answers. Like I say, the best built boat out there is the one that does what you want it to.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
