2 seasons now with a blue deck, blue bottom, and black mid panel. No fading at all. It does show water spots easier, if not wiped down, then white.

I agree. I have a lot of similarities as chpthril with my boat coloring scheme but I will get water spots. But, I also use Babes Boat Bright a lot so there is a nice layer of wax on the boat and I also wax the boat two times a year (1 going into the boating season and the other right before we winterize it).

Ok so back to my question. Because i have to hoist my boat every time i use it(making it almost impossible to wipe off), how badly will the black fade? I currently have an 06 yellow 22v and have noticed only a minor amount of fadeing and I have NEVER wiped it down after using it, but how much more fadeing will occur with black?

There is no way that i'm going to be walking on a two inch rail to get to the other side of my boat to wipe it down(only one side of my boat is on the dock). And if i tired to reach from the inside of the boat i'd only get about 1/2 to 3/4 of the side.
I'm not that concered about water spots, i'm concered about fadeing.

How often does everyone here wash there boat? If you keep it in a lift. I'm think that i might just be able to have my marina wash it once a month to keep the spots down. I'm thinking that if i have the marina wash it once a month or so and wax it at the end of every season i should be good.
I never waxed my 06 22v, but that is all yellow, and it has only barely faded.

If you don't wipe it down after each use, then you'll need to wash and wax it about every month. Just get some ducky and a towel. Reach over the side and wipe what you can get to. Alternatively, use some of that Eagle 1 spray-on wax (as u dry) and you should be good.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

Ya there is a top on my hoist. I went and looked at another one of my friends tiges today that is all black, and hers isn't faded to badly, but does show water spots. But then again hers isn't used that much. Its an older 22i and for being as old as it is i thought it looked good as far as water spots and fadeing are concerned.
