Only an insurance guy would know that. What a good idea man what was I thinking. JK. I would not do that to our insurance. That is what we have medical insurance for. If the medical insurance did not cover it all then maybe I would look at other options.

My wife and I went out yesterday to make one last run for the season with our boat and man.The water was great 65 degrees. Air temp was 85. The only thing that went wrong was my wife dropped my wake board on her foot putting it into the boat and broke here foot.

So now here foot is 5 times its normal size. She says she did it to save the wake board from hitting the ground to hard. I love my wife. Sacrafice for the wake board. But I bet the foot repairs cost more than a new wake board if they can fix it. But I don't care. I still love her she is the best wife of all times.

Here is some pictures. I don't know if you will be able to see temp or not on the guages.
Why were you taking pictures of your temp guage at 45mph!!!!

Got the heater all hooked up, going out this weekend and will probably have to use it, only supposed to be 80 on Sat. Sunday morning is supposed to be in the high 50's. For anyone looking at heaters I bought a danhard heater. They make a bunch of aftermarket heaters and a/c units for commercial and service vehicles like ambulances, military vehicles...their website is www.danhard.com, it is the 00417-SS, it is 48k btu and has 4 vents. It seems to move a pretty good amount of air and comes with a three speed resistor. It was about $250 and is in an all plastic housing, which is important to me since I use my boat in saltwater. I'll let y'all know how it works this weekend. Thanks to those of you that helped me with vent locations and where to tap into my cooling loop. We should be nice and warm all year long now

I know, living in more or less southern florida and installing a heater, I must be looking to throw money away. But look at it our way, cold is any water temp less than 75-78 degrees. We are already down to 85ish so it is a worthy investment to me. Plus my wife has about ZERO body fat so she is already cold on the ride home once the sun goes down. I am thinking of an Isinglass enclosure to go from the top of the windshield up to the bimini, we'll see. Thanks in advance.
I was thinking that somebody with more engine knowledge would post some pictures for you, but since nobody has, I thought I'd give it a shot. But remember, I don't know that much about engines and such, so if somebody could confirm the pics that would help.

The first pic is so you can see if this is the same engine that you are looking for:

Second pic shows where the two connections are for the heater hoses, I don't know which is the outflow and which is the inflow, but I do know that these are the two hoses that my dealer told me to drain during the winter so that my heater wont get wrecked in the winter.

Sorry that the red circles are hard to see, I don't know why my photo editor wouldn't let me adjust the thickness.

Here is another, this is taken from the bow of the boat:

another of the same, zoomed in closer:

Finally a zoomed shot of the other connection towards the top of the motor:

Well, there you have it, my feeble attempt to help out.

The connection points aren't unique to a "Marine Power" engine. The hot water supply port will be a pipe plug near the thermostat housing in the block. That's where the hottest water will be coming out of the engine. The return line will be another pipe fitting on the side of the water pump housing. Both are usually 3/8" pipe fittings. I added 1/2" ball valves in the lines to allow closing the system in case the heater core leaks. Also, the lines don't need to be pressurized when not using the heater. Some heater cores in boats are near the driver and the lines should be shielded in case they burst. (A friend's legs were badly burnt when a heater hose burst in his van while he test drove it with the engine cover off.) I'm using 2 copper pipes inside a PVC pipe to go from the rear locker to the compartment in front of the dash where the heater core is. Wood spacers in the PVC pipe support the copper lines. A side benefit is the water probably stays hotter down that 10' run to the heater core.

Yes, thanks for the pics. I used the outlet up near the thermostat but decided to use the plug on top of the water pump for the return instead of the one on the side. My dealer said it won't make a difference, it was just easier for me to get a wrench on.

R&T, no they are not unique, but it seems that the mercruiser and indmar have a different style of head on the plug on some models, so the very first person to replied that had those engines did not have the same removal method. I just wanted to be sure to try to get the same engine so the plugs would hopefully have the same head for me to easier identify. I already plan to put in valves. That's a good idea about the pvc sleeve, I think I will try to figure out how to sleeve mine, atleast by the driver's legs.
