If it was a prop slipping, you'd never get that boat up to 30.

Good point here. Did the prop get put onto the shaft without the prop key (a little metal bar that is about 2 inches long by 1/4 inch wide) to stop the prop from slipping?

Maybe he forgot to take to take the boat off of the trailer?

at 5krpm he has to be going faster then that, if everything is fine

As was stated before, test the speed with a GPS unit. I tested mine this year & I was skiing at 38 when the PP was set to 32. It's no wonder I could only make 2 bouys. I then rechecked it with a stop watch in the ski course & the GPS was dead on. No way that boat only goes 32.

Yeah I'm pretty sure we finally got the trailer off. We could only hit about 20 with the trailer. J/K I couldn't resist. Thanks for the input.

Prop has key in place, not slipping. Numbers came right off the prop. Dealer sent me new prop W/more "cup" we'll see how it does the w/e will keep you posted.

I check mine with a GPS just because of this thread. I have always wondered and changed props around. I found up to about 24 MPH it is accurate. Then after that my speedo will show 24 but the GPS says 28 and when I am going 34 the GPS said 41 so my speedo is way off. Going to have to figure this one out now. It is no wonder when I did get up on one ski it hurt so bad when I hit the water.

                      Tige Problems

Bought GPS and you guys were right the speedo was off big time. At 17 we were doing 21 and the faster you went the more gap in the numbers. At 30-32 indicated we were going 40-42 according to the GPS. I wish that was all the bad news but alas there is more. Got some debre in the water intake and started over heating. We took suction hose off at the water pump and backwashed everything and got going again. Oh and I almost forgot my suposedly brand new tower has the threads stripped out on the top where the tower and the uprights connect. Other than that, boy do I love Tige. We'll see if that relationship continues after I tell them what I think of there great (poor) disign in some areas.

                        What GPS

What GPS units do you all use that are that accurate measuring the speed?

I use the Garmin Etrex hand held. What I have done is calibrate the Perfect Pass speed as well as the in dash speedo. Both should be checked and calibrated but the Perfect Pass is the one I want to be exact, or at least as close as possible.

It's a brand new tower alright. The towers come collapsed and the uprights are wrapped in bubble wrap and ready for the dealer service guy to set up. If it is stripped, ask him

Sorry to hear about the minor probs. May want to get the impeller replaced after running dry.

Now it is nice to know that the speed was incorrect. However, I would question the dealer now. They said it was correct. Did they every even test it????

About the stripping of the threads. You should talk with the dealer and I am sure they will straighten it out and correct it. However, don't come down to heavy on the speedo thing first.

I posted in a thread about this a while back. Mine does the same thing. I figured that since it is spot on at wakeboarding speeds, I won't mess with it. Everyone on that thread seemed to think I was expecting too much for it to be accurate at every speed.
