RZ2 any issues

Looked at an RZ2 this weekend and was generally impressed with the boat, impressed enough to put the stops to buying another boat. I am just wondering if anyone has had any "quirks" or issues with their RZ2 that I should be aware of or ask the dealer about.

Also how does the wake compare when ballast is added. Does it shape up like a MC, Bu, or CC. I was pulled with no ballast and found the wake decent but am wondering once ballast is added can I get the wake to have more "vert" without having excessive bowrise.

BTW-It is an 07 with the MP 340, stock stereo, no ballast(for now), and some other options.

With ballast it seems to be a little more vert. But we never really use it much unless surfing. Umm the stock ballast pumps for the first couple use's dont kick in right away and may take some time to fill but other then that great boat and i love mine!

I haven't had any mechanical issues on mine. The seat hinge on the port side has a pin that likes to back out and my surfing light flickers when it gets hot. I have a few gel coat cracks in the nose area where they installed the rub rail screws incorrectly (will be getting them fixed over the winter). Other than those minor issues, no problems! I have ~92 hours on mine for the season. Someone on here has one with I think ~ 300 hours for this year! That's who needs to chime in!

The wake grows pretty quickly with ballast! I am an intermediate rider and if I fill the v-drive sacks and try and ride, it's out of my league. Surfing wave is decent, just takes some figuring out to get it dialed in properly. Bowrise is never an issue with this boat, they designed the seat position and nose just right! The gauges and amenities are awesome, storage is excessive, ride and handling would be tough to beat by any comparably sized boat. Gas mileage is awesome too!

I highly recommend the RZ2 and I would definitely buy another one given the chance!

Thanks guys, the dealer does have an owner with an RZ2 with 400 hours this year, but I haven't gotten to talk to him and not sure if I will get the chance. Anyhow, the dealer seems to be pretty on the ball and really showed off the strong points of the boat.

Yo, Coach or DCsnowake - you out there?

Coach/DCsnowake: If you can chime in on your experiences w/your RZ2's, it would be much appreciated. I know JOHNnieSVT, and he's for real!

The RZ2 w/o any weight throws a wake very similar to my 22i weighted as you rode it at Raystown. When we put 800lbs of ballast in the RZ2 for the INT events, it gets huge. I can't speak too much to whether it gets more verticle - these other cats w/more time in and behind that model can fill you in there.

My son has ridden behind the MC X-Star and RZ2 in competitions. His feedback as well as that of other riders was that the RZ2 wake had much more pop than the MC.

I think we have 145 hours on ours and i was thinking there were a few things that had to be replaced some driver error but maybe one spearker and that is about it other then a small tear in the drivers seat that had been fixed.

we ran a RZ2 with 950# of lead it was the sickest wake i have ever seen. taps on 5. the exp. rider that was with us has a CC210 it was his lead and he could not stop talking about how much better the RZ2 wake was compared to his 210 with same 950#. 200# in frt 700# in rear and 50# in middle to move around to even it out side to side depending on people load. the boat handled great and speed set was very steady. it had the 340 hp motor and it was plenty of power. i think you will really enjoy the RZ2. well thats my good luck with your decsion. post up some pics.

I have a 2008 and in the limited time we have had it, it has been awesome!

The only thing I would ask your dealer about is to check and see he did the update on the 340MP motor. In early to mid 07 some engines had a in proper installed oil fitting that could loosen causing oil to go into the bilge. It was a very rare problem and most dealers ( I know mine did) recalled all the early boats to replace the fitting. It literally is a $5.00 part.

Thanks guys for the reply's I got to talk with "Pauly", who has 300 hours on his RZ2, and it really doesn't sound like wake or even realiability is going to be any sort of issue. I am almost positive a Tige will be in my family's near future, now to figure out if the boat will fit in the da*n garage.

I live in a development and unfortunately no room to build a garage. Actually I have more than enough length it is all about ducking the boat underneath the standard 7' garage.
