Very nice, Ragboy. I have been in an RZ4 and X-45 recently. I felt like both were huge. The bow was bigger on the X-45 and felt very usable. The bow on the RZ4 is big too.

Notice the size of the rear storage hatches...I wonder if Tige could still make better use of that space and make them bigger. The storage is frankly a little small.

I would love to hear someone give some experience with the 400hp that tige is now offering in the 5.7. Reliablity and fuel economy.

it's the same engine that's in the regular c6 corvette. It's a great engine, however it has issues on long hard high rpm's. I would be worried that a boat weighted down, running more ballast would run a higher rpm and could be problamatic. Granted this is just coming from the c6 aspect, maybe they changed it up a bit for the boat.

It's the best driver's seat of any boat, wouldn't trade it for anything! Soooo comfortable!!!

I see why they did that storage behind the driver to make another observer position. But that also will hinder my surfing, I think. It makes less room for me to put people on the starboard side to weight for surfing. All my kids are goofy except one. I guess the only good thing, is the port side needs more weight to be clean, and the starboard doesn't need as much.

Actually, you can probably get a sack in there pretty easily.

As for the port needing more weight, I think you and I are part of the problem I have to fill my ski locker, rear V-drive locker and get some ballast on the seat.

I still think we could all save ourselves a lot of lost storage If we had some ballast underneath the swim platform. It would have to be shaped properly so as to not interfere with TAPS or my FAE. Any thoughts on who might be able to custom fab such a thing?

thought about that a while back, but when a tank of water is sitting in the water itself, the tank then becomes neutrally bouyant.

I also thought about putting a ballast sack or tank on TOP of the platform. However this just gets in the way, and the weight is too far back.

Surf behind your boat and you'll notice that your platform is actually out of the water more the closer it gets to your transom. When you're wakeboarding, it's completely out of the water. Also, the further back your weight is, the less of it you'll need. Same thing up front. You'd be surprised how much of a difference a 150lb sack makes when it's propped up on the bow as far forward as you can go without it falling out of the boat.

Having it neutrally bouyant while at rest is an advantage.

What are you trying to say Dog? ;-) I resemble that remark.

No, when we surf port, my son drives, he is 12, and I get my fat butt on the port side. But the startboard side needs less list/weight to get a clean wake. The port side needs more weight to get a clean wake on my Ve, guessing cuz of prop rotation.

Why a bow ladder? I think getting up on the platform is way easier and doing it from the front on a ladder would be a PITA!

Do you have kids? They always want to jump off the front of the boat too. We board, and surf, but sometimes we anchor and swim, and the boat becomes a big diving board. I also have 6 kids, and bring others with us many times. It may not be a big deal to some, but I would love it. Lets put it this way, I may or may not move to RZ4 in spring, but if the ladder was there, I would DEF do it. No question.

When you have as many children (6) as he does, you need multiple ways to get into the boat.
