Thanks to Chpthril and his wife, we had an awesome wkend on Lake Norman. Some learned to wakeboard and wakesurf for the first time. Here are some photos.
You guys are having way too much fun! Great pics! Good lookin' surf wake!

Looks like yall had a fun time. I wish I could been on the lake
CP3, You will have to come up w/ us next time.
Hey Chptril, I talked to another friend that has a couple of places at Belews and he did tell me that Belews is down too. He had to take his boat off the lift or it would have been there through the winter or until we get enough rain. We may try to get a wkend sometime in Oct. if possible. I have a couple of wetsuit if it gets to cold.
I have never seen anyone use a leash on the board for wakesurfing.
Got tired of swimming after the board while learning Makes it easier for other newbies too

Hey, you guys need to get a real wakesurf rope. That wakebaord rope handle can get you into trouble if it wraps around a limb. Alternatively, use half a trick ski handle.

Well, they will only do that twice
I agree that that is a concern, but I have found that it is much easier on newbies to pull up using the shortened ski rope/handle. I do instruct everyone to keep hold of the handle ( and yes, I know that in one pic the rider has dropped it ) and DO NOT wrap the rope around your hands or put your arm through the handle.
I do have the LF knotted rope that we got with the first surfer but I dont like it. Unless the newbie has pretty good upper body strength, it's hard to pull up. I did make a new surf rope with a narrower handle. Seems to be working out well.
