This is a comment more about Tige's design in general than the Z1, but what do you all think about the lack of a cup holders/speakers/place for your shades in that mid section of the boat in this pic (yes, I stole this pic from a WW post). I think that would be a great addition to both sides of the boat, although I will say that I have not spent much time in boats that have that feature. I would love a place to put my shades and hat when it is my turn to ride other than the glove compartment. I would think it would go good for beers and getting two speakers closer to the ears too. It is just dead space right now. Any cons to that configuration that I am missing?Attached Files

I prefer to have a full seat back because of comfort, rather then a void in the cushion for storage/cup holdersMikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

It's my understanding that the current configuration adds to the structural integrity of the boat. I do agree that having cupholders and speakers in the gap between the hull and the seat would be better.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

My neighbor has a bu that has them in the seat back, they're great! The structure of the boat is not effected by the hole that would go into the deck mold. That gets cut up like swiss cheese already, and your body doesn't even touch that part of the seat for the most part. If I had a dollar for every time my passengers kicked a half empty cup or can that was sitting in the floor cupholders, I'd be able to by a Z1. The work that goes into putting cupholders there is a possible explaination, But I wouldn't be surprised to find that Tige is listening and taking notes. If I can be of any help at all, your in deep doo doo!

I agree, and think Tige could use a few extra nooks and crannies for beverages, keys, hats, cell phones, T-shirts and the like. Mine always end up under the windshield. It is not a deal breaker for most people, but it would be nice to have a cutout along the long bench on the port side, IMHO. My speakers do sound way better if I lay on the floor so having them up would be nice.Be excellent to one another.

I think they should also consider a similar setup for the bow cup holders, especially if you have a bow cushion...makes it impossible to put your drink down anywhere.
Alternatively, how about a flip-down cushion on the side that revealed a storage area. It would be similar to the way back seat arm cushions flip down in many vehicles. Then you'd have the best of both worlds.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

I've been in many boats with cutouts and don't notice any difference in comfort versus one that doesn't have them. That being said i prefer the cutouts not neccessarily for the cupholders but for the speakers. Speakers on the floor to me are an invitation to getting them ruined. A couple of buddies have them on the floor area and they get kicked, dripped all over and whacked with boards and such. Add kids to the mix and it's even worse. Its funny how this discussion has reduced itself to placement of cupholders.
Whats even funnier, is that it totally makes sense to me. I love my cupholder just left of dash on my Ve, and I noticed it RIGHT away when I bought the boat, because my previous boat, the driver cupholder was a pain.
I guess you work hard, you spend the money, dammit if it ain't perfect, huh?http://wake9.com/
