I have some lead weights that I can donate to the cause.

I'm just trying to help out an owner... He would get more money if the boat was unrecoverable wouldn't he?????????

I would agree with you... IF he had towed it back to the marina for me... He dragged it halfway back and the sheriffs caught him and then he suddenly had no interest in "helping" the cause... The sheriff asked him if he would take it back to the marina where the trailer was waiting and he said "No thanks, I'll just beach it over there."

Bottom line, the guy is a Douchebag.

I never would have imagined $44k to repair it. Where does all that cost come into play? I mean surely it can be done for MUCH less than that.

Maybe you should consider buying it back from the insurance company, fixing it, selling it, and having more money towards the 22V you want.

What I mean by help him is a sarcastic statement. I should say beach his boat for him and leave it.

                    Well here's the update...

Received the check from the insurance co. for the salvage of the boat... $2683 was the cost to recover the boat and get it back on the trailer. It's been two weeks and I'm still waiting on the police report. It should be in Monday or Tuesday. Once the insurance co. gets that to see if I was drinking or not (which I wasn't) or was negligent in any way, they'll continue my claim and I'll be getting my 22Ve. I'm not worried, it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time...

Here's a pic of them towing it back...

Often times, life can suck at the moment, but as time passes, hard times just make for good stories.

Hope it turns out well for you.

Lunchbox, sometimes things happen for a reason. It's good to hear things are moving along.

Looks like you have some serious ballast weight in the boat. Well, as Matt stated, it's probably a sign from above that is telling you to purchase/upgrade your boat.

How does your dealer come up with $44k to get your boat running. I mean what needs to be replaced that costs that much money? Replace the engine, all the electronics, carpet and such, hull repair......is it that expensive?

Anyway, I'm glad everything has worked out for you and you'll love your new Ve!
