Since we're all from Canada on this thread. You guys have any advice on doing winterizing yourself? I'd love any advice, tips, techniques that you guys have. My boat will be stored in a garage, but I still want to be safe and make sure that there are no "frozen" mishaps.

Sorry, I live in the far north but work downtown. I get the boat after work (going south) then head home, and go west past Cochrane from there. No matter what it is a round trip PITA. So if I do it I prefer the Ghost, more room. There are two launches at Ghost, both recently redone, one on each side of the highway (1A). There are also day use docks making it easier to load and unload. The north side is more sheltered and good for riding.

IMHO you just spent alot on the boat, I would have Jon do it for you and then you are covered. It is cheap piece of mind while watching hockey and dreaming about spring LOL. I was in the same boat last year ( no pun intended) bought our 22VE @ the End of OCT, brought it home to put in the garage to basically sit until April. Even with the garage attached to the house it still was below freezing in there every night, Jon told me horror stories from last year about guys taking the chance and doing it themselves and losing the motor when it came spring time, I am not sure they lost there motors but apparently they did
It can be done but why risk it for a couple bucks.
With that said, there are a ton of resources on this site and a quick search will turn up quite a few threads about the ins and outs of winterizing yourself.

Mine is white with a Black & Blue panel on the side. Not flashy, but it will do the job. I basically took the boat they had. I may add a sub, amp, & tower speakers later, once i get it on the lake and see how it sounds after having out in operation for a few skis first. Other than that it has everything except for ballast and a shower. How come you got rid of the 22 so fast and switch to the RZ

I think I know which one that is, Thats a awesome boat.
Why did I change so fast? Im not to sure really, I wanted the RZ2 last year, but could not justify the extra coin for a boat I knew little about, when I say that I mean tournament style. We came from a 2006 Maxum 18 footer and to jump into something that was 3X the price was a bit over the top. So I decided to go for the 22VE and like you, put the extra in a safe spot. We managed just under 60 hours this summer and really just fell in love with what the boat could offer. It was the little things I wanted that the RZ2 offered over the 22VE was really the deciding factor.
Jon and I got talking and he said he was bringing one in with the colors I wanted and the internal Ballast, which is something he usually doesn't order.
We worked out a deal and called it a day.
To be honest, the creature comforts are better but I still think the 22VE handles better for some unknown reason. But I love my RZ2Tige owner since 2006

Bibbs,
I ended up getting my boat from Jon @ Redline in Chilliwack. I did so much research into every 20' & 21' boat out there, that it would make you sick. Like i said earlier, I was really leaning towards a BU, but ened up with the
20V when it came down to the brass tax. I know this is a Tige site, but if anyone is thinking of switching to BU, I can probably help you out with some of the info i have. I found a few BU great dealers out there and a few shaddy ones too. If it wasn't for their territory protection policy I may have bought a BU.
Kscales,
That is one sick boat. If you ever need an extra person in the boat let me know. I'd love to get out in an RZ and see the difference. I'll bring the beer!

We went to windermere for may long weekend, and the first day (my first day on the boat) was so choppy, that it busted the tach guage right off. Hopefully it will be fixed soon, maybe all the guages while we are at it.
More to come once i dig some up. The interior is in really rough shape, so i probably wont include those pictures until vinyl is redone one dayLast edited by The friend Ship; 09-19-2007, 06:25 AM.
