Do you have a secret spot?

Since I got my Tigé my buddy with a Malibu has been telling me he has a secret spot he will show me. Now it's been three years and until today I was skeptical. He said he would take me sometime, but couldn't tell me where it was. Last night we talked and he said today was the day. This morning he called and said bring whatever you need to drop my tower (normally never drop as have tall garage). I'm thinking how secret can a place be? Everybody knows where there is water and as popular as water sports are how can there be any secrets. We get to this place and start to prepare to unload and he says I'll just hold the boat as you back in and walk it off the trailer. I'm thinking, why and he says it's too shallow and there are a couple 55 gallon drums filled with cement off the launching area to watch out for. What have I gotten myself and my Tigé into? I back him in and park and come back and board the boat and he starts walking me out about 50 yards in about waist deep water then he steps off the edge of a shelf and says ok to start. He jumps in and we head for a bridge accross what I am seing as a mud puddle, we drop the tower and have to creep under this bridge with about 2" of clearance. We get to other side and he says this is it. I look at the depth gauge and it is reading 18' I look ahead and it's mirror glass and maybe 100 yards across. My boy throws in the ski rope (we always ski on glass before boarding I'm old fashioned that way) we take off as my friend guides me through his private play ground. It's about 6 miles long and glass the whole time. We had an awesome day glass until after 1:00 when we pulled out. While we were between sets and having a snack we watched as 12 deer came down and watered, fish were jumping everywhere and it was just us on a Saturday at noon. He said occasionally they will see another boat out, but usually it's all to them selves, I pointed out until now, he will probably be seeing me alot more often and he said that was cool as long as no one, but my family knows about it. Does anybody else have secrets or am I dreaming this really happened?

Sorry for the long post as I am still in shock that this exists within an hour and a half of my house. Also no pics as my wife had the camera on a girls retreat. I'll get some next week end that won't give away our secret, but show the glory of it all.
My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.

Man, that is very cool. Have fun with that. You have to take a couple of pics, without giving away location of course.

        Sounds killer!

I would be looking over my shoulder from now on. That kind of information can be dangerous. I think you are going to have some spies following you around, or hooking up a tracking device to your truck.

          Sounds Awesome!

I have a similar spot. It just isn't that good until about October 15th.
          Be excellent to one another.

Laketime a spot like this took me 3years of begging a life long friend. Maybe I would show someone else in maybe 5 years after marrying one of my kids and supporting me in my retirement. It's sweet!!!!

On a side note Taylors is servicing (200 hour) my boat right right now, so I guess they haven't kicked everything tigé out the door.

I have a secret spot at Lake Powell. We have a time share on a housboat there for 1 week a year during August. 8 out of the last 12 years that we have gone we went to this "secret spot". We usually don't see another boat all week and have all day glass. My dad has actually had to make a effort to drive the boat on the "sky" becuase the water was so still that it was hard to tell what was the rocks and what was the reflected rocks on the water. It actually gets a little creapy being out in the middle of the Utah desert with no phone, no TV, and no other humans around for a whole week... you start to wonder if the world has come to an end and your boat and crew are the lone survivors... with all that glass!

My secret spot isn't super secret, but most people do not know where it is and if they do, they need an inboard to be able to access it since it so shallow. The other problem is that the very green water and large amounts of carp tend to scare off the faint hearted. Once you get in, it is almost a separate lake and the water is always calm and you can almost go up the Novell campus. For you locals, it shouldn't be hard to guess.

                      dtown,
Is your secret spot up the San Juan arm?

                          Moki,
Our secret spot makes the "San Juan secret spot" look like rush hour traffic. San Juan is decent though, but still too many boats, all the avid waterskiers and boarders know about the San Juan.
Here is my only hint - A fairly large event took place at Powell in 2003. Ever since then our secret spot has gotten even better!

PS - with your avitar pic your screen name should be "defiance".

2003 was the first time the lake was below 50% since 1973 when it was filled.
                            Three ramps were closed.
