    Capital Watersports

    I am thinking of taking my boat into my dealer, capital watersports, over the winter. I want to get (probably) factory ballast, and just go through a list of small things that need to be fixed, and possibly a few other minor upgrades.

    My own dealings with them, has not giving me much confidence, and I keep hearing other not so great things. Today, I saw this on Craigslist:

    I am actually thinking, maybe I should drive somewhere else, to get my boat worked on, and leave it for a month, or whatever.

    So 2 questions, any other experiences from Capital?

    Also, what are the great Tige dealers that are somewhat close to NorCal?

    This thing is a part of my family, I don't want to leave it in bad hands. My kids call her "Teye-gee".

    There is a new Tigé dealer in the Livermore area now (Tri-Valley Marine), but I have heard nothing of their service yet. I have taken my boat to Liquid Wrenches in Livermore (http://www.liquidwrenches.com/) for service/winterizing, and I was really pleased with their service. I don't know how far Magalia is from Livermore, but at least you have some more info. I would give CWS a wide berth. Good luck!

      Livermore is not too far. I am 30 minutes east of Chico, in the mountains. I saw some ads for the livermore dealer, but have heard nothing about them. I too, get all my service done locally, but need to have some "dealer items" done, and hopefully the factory ballast. I just don't see CWS drilling holes in my boat. I don't have the confidence.

          Liquid Wrenches does fiberglass and gelcoat work as a standard service, if that helps you at all.

            I PURCHASED A REPO BOAT FROM THESE PEOPLE, THINKING I WAS BUYING A NEW BOAT THAT WAS REPOED FROM A FORMER BOAT DEALER, BUT COME TO FIND OUT IT HAD MANY PARTS REMOVED BY THE OLD DEALER,CAPITAL WATER SPORTS WAS PAYED TO REINSTALL ALL THE PARTS ON THE REPOED BOATS, I TOOK MY BOAT OUT AND ALL THE PARTS THEY INSTALLED FALL OFF OR CAME LOSE, I HAVE TAKEN MY BOAT THERE TWICE, FIRST FOR A BIMINI TOP THAT DIDNT FIT RIGHT, THEY PUT A RUBBER HOSE ON TWO DOWN BARS SO IT WOULDNT BREAK THE WINDOW THAT WAS THE ONLY FIX THEY COULD DO, THE SECOND TIME THEY HAD MY BOAT FOR 3 WEEKS TO DO A 20 HOUR SERVICE A RETIGHTEN THE STUFF AGAIN 3 WEEKS THEY DID NOTHING BUT LEFT IT OUTSIDE WHERE IT GOT VERY DIRTY, AND ALL THE OWNER COULD SAY IS ( I GUESS I SCREWED YOU) NO KINDA LET ME HELP YOU OUT WITH SOMETHING, SO PLEASE BEWARE OF THESE GUYS THEY ARE SOME SHADY PEOPLE, IT HAS BEEN THE WORST BOAT BUYING EXPIREANCE EVER

              For the record, this is just icing on the cake for me, I would never take this post as the last word. And now that I am getting closer to thinking about taking my boat in, I am wary about going to capital.

                    Capital water sports should be willing to give the name and #, if not, that would be another red flag.

                      I have not had any bad experiences with Capital Water Sports. They have bee slow on occasions when warranty work had to be done but the entire shop is up in shambles from what I understand. The service department is under change and I am not sure what the owners are doing about it. I have to take my boat into the shop this off season also for some warranty work but I will take the cover to them also. They dealership does a cleaning of the boats before they deliver the boat back to the owner but again, the service department is under some changes from what I understand.

                          I still stand by Liquid Wrenches...they were in contact with me as needed, and they did good work. Search for yourself.
