    08 First Impressions

Had a chance to check out an 08 22Ve last night that my dealer unloaded Fri. and just wanted to share some of the first things I noticed.

    Pro's:

No more "friction fit" seats in the main cabin area......much easier to get into storage and cooler.
Ballast switches are on the drivers console below the Speed-Set.......Moved from the side panel, below the throttle, where they were easy to click on with you knee when you swivel the seat.
Board racks now lock on the outside which makes starting the threaded hold-down handle much easier.
New 320hp seems almost as strong as the 340hp

    Con's:

The flip over corner cushion/step is a little smaller now, 'bout the size of the RZ2.

Overall I was impressed with this boat. Keep up the good work Tige

320 HP? What happened. Since when does going down in HP seem like a good thing? Was there something wrong with the 340? I sometimes feel like the enemy of good is 'better'. The 340 has been really 'good'. Maybe the torque curve is better?
    Be excellent to one another.

I would venture it's more an emissions/fuel economy thing then an hp thing but that's just my

Did they have a different prop on it than the 2007's did?

Sorry to confuse...........the 320hp replaced the 315hp and my dealer said it felt almost as strong as the 340hp which is a huge improvement over the 315hp.

I think the 315 was a Merc, but they are all MP now

If I get an 08, I hope they offer the option of no speakers, otherwise someone will get a good deal on some wetsounds

I agree on the graphics. I think the tribal stuff is on its way out. I have to say, I love the Tige, but I like some of the new mastercraft graphics I have seen out on the water. I never liked the big tribal stuff. I went with the classic Tige graphic, that is only a hint of it.

I think tribal is huge still here on the left coast. I would venture to say they sell more boats out this way... maybe why they kept it???

Maybe, but when bayliner and others start using tribal, and mc and bu seem to be going away, maybe its time.
