    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the drama. But we are packing up right now to go to the LAST INT comp this season. My son RJ is first in his division, up by 185 pts over second place. Which means if he just wins once, on either Sat or Sun, then he goes to USC in Louisiana, very cool. He comes in just a few minutes ago, "Dad, I just cut my heel." I look at it, it def needs stitches. My wife is taking him to the urgent care now.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I told her to get extra pads, tape, and tylenol. The boy is riding!

Ash and Whit are battling over 1st in their division, one of them will go.

Geez, I can't believe he cut his heel of all places, and today.

That sucks!!!!!!! I wonder if you put some "liquid skin" on that area before he rides if it would work.... Might sting a little upon applying but it would be better than an infection.......

Okay, what the he77 was he thinking???? j/k

Tape it up and put a booty over it and try to waterproof it and tell him to suck it up and stay on the ball of his foot!!!

Ask the Dr. for an extra novocaine shot for the comp.

Forget the liquid skin. I almost sliced the tip of one of my fingers off and had the luck to draw an ER doc who was a trained plastic surgeon for hands. He told me that liquid skin is just a fancy version of superglue. The only difference is that they say it's sanitized. In reality, the chemical nature of it is such that no bacteria can survive in it's liquid form.

So, get some superglue and cover that baby up and for heaven's sake, get that boy to wear some shoes.

Speaking of shoes, you might try having him wear an old pair of skateboard shoes. Our kids have used their old skateboard shoes for wakeskating, so I would think it works for surfing too.

Good luck and hope he gets healed up soon!

This comp is wakeboarding, not surfing. So he has to get in the bindings. His wake 2 wake and indy won't be fun.

I just heard from Amy, they think it may have gone deep enough to get the tendon. They are checking. Damn. It can't be bad, it was deep enough to know he would need stitches, but I can't think it did more than just nick the tendon. Fricken Achilles.

                    That doesn't sound good

Hope everything turns out ok. My 13 year old is just like that, too. He's beginning to think about consequences now, so there is hope.

Too bad you don't have more lead time. There's a great product out on the market called xerosox. We got one for my son when he was 12 and had an IV pick line in his arm.

They are sewing him up. Doctor said he got right TO the tendon, but doesn't look like he got the tendon at all. So hopefully they have liquid skin at walgreens, and time to SUCK IT UP!

Man, I tell the kid, don't go outside just in your socks, at least put your sandles on. All his socks are full of holes. If he was wearing shoes, or his sandles, with back strap, probably ok.

This might sound crazy but use Krazy-glue over the stitches.

I used it all the time when I would cut my fingers/get blisters from pitching. It was the only thing strong enough.

It burns for a few sec but after that you have a nice hard cover over your cut that wont come off for a day or so.

Sheesh I wish I could have taken him. The doctor is telling my wife if he competes his foot may come off or some crap like that. Its a stinkin cut. But now she is going to be all wigged out.

                              She will live. ;-)

                              Hope the sofa is soft.
